Armed woman robs 11 people, gets $6

A gun-wielding woman robbed 11 market customers - and escaped with $6 -- yesterday in the desert town of Thermal, according to Riverside County deputy sheriffs.

The holdup happened shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday at La Chicanita Market along the 88700 block of 70th Avenue.

Armed with a semi-automatic pistol, the woman confronted 10 customers and demanded money, Deputy Herlinda Valenzuela said in a written statement.

"As the suspect walked toward the exit, ... she met a patron entering the store. The suspect brandished the weapon ... and made a demand for cash," according to the statement. "The suspect obtained approximately $6 from the victims and left."

The gunwoman was last seen climbing into the front passenger seat of an old, two-door Honda or similar car. It was black with white spots, witnesses said. No one was hurt.

The robber was a Hispanic woman in her 20s wearing a jacket and a headdress over her head and face. Anyone with information may call deputies at 760-863-8990.







Her getaway car sounds like an inverted dalmatian.

I wonder what she decides to buy with all that money?

and I found this rather hilarious. I was transporting an inmate today from one unit to another and read his travel card(aka what he did to get put in prison) Suspect fired two shots. One in the air and another at the person fleeing the property in thier vehicle. A single bullet penetrated the vehicle and wounded the victim in the buttocks.

He got 7 years for this.

I remember reading this article. Title was misleading; pilot had a lot of experience, and at one stage did have a pilots license, just didn't renew it.

SANTA ANA – A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night on suspicion of masturbating in front of a youth charity center, police said.

Police were called shortly before 9:30 p.m. to KidWorks at 1902 W. Chestnut Ave, near Daisy Avenue regarding a man who was outside the center harassing women and exposing his private parts, said Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna.

Officers found a man, later identified as Tony Rojo Ortega, lying on the ground in front of the center with his pants pulled down and fondling himself, Bertagna said.

Ortega, who appeared to be intoxicated, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor indecent exposure and disorderly conduct, Bertagna said. Ortega was booked at the Santa Ana City Jail.

A woman told officers she was leaving the center when she encountered a man, later identified as Ortega, who walked toward her with his hand extended, Bertagna said. The woman told officers that she felt uncomfortable and ran back inside the center, he said.

The woman told officers that she waited inside until her sister arrived to pick her up, but when she walked out to her sister's car, she noticed the man was lying on the ground, Bertagna said.

The woman said the man pulled his pants down, turned toward her and her sister and started touching himself, Bertagna said.

"The victim said she was afraid that he was going to grab her," Bertagna said.
