I can't listen to music/watch movies while downloading or even opening a big webpage.

I have a pretty fast internet connection, 3g of ram, a new 1gb Nvidia graphics card, and a 1tb HD.
What the fuck is going on?!
I've tried using KMplayer, MediaMonkey, Zoom Player, WMP 11, and DivX player but it happens everytime.
All my hardware is up to date and I don't know what to do.
Help? D:

Do i need an extra sound or graphics card?

The less bullshit you have attached to your media player, the better IMO.

I would consider replacing all existing codecs with the light alternatives from the K-Lite Codec Pack. It works pretty well for me

Classic is so ugly dammit.
But is the jumping/sketchy playback normal?
I cant remember is my old computer did it but this seems so fucking ridiculous. I'll be downloading a movie in Utorrent which is tiny and try watching a movie but cant. That just doesnt make sense to me because my media players are disabled from accessing the internet.
I'm DLing that codec pack, hopefully it will help.

Codex issue. Delete all codecs and start again.

I recommend no one to install "all in one codec packs" as they cause problems.

If removing, then updating your video card driver does not help, then I would probably reformat to eliminate software problems. VLC media player should work just fine.


The videos that you're having issues with, AREN'T HD resolutions correct?

Everything jumps, from Music to HD Videos and non HD videos.

i just reformated my entire hard drive about a week ago and reinstalled all drivers and did updates and everything.
I have a massive music collection, so I use Media Monkey. But I can't even listen to songs while anythings being done on the internet.

Should I take out the video card and see if it still does it?
I've never had a Galaxy card and it was on sale for $100, so I'm beginning to think the card is just shit.
anyone have any experience with them?

That I know of, I've never had any problems with any codec packs. I had the DivX pack and now I have the K-Lite one and it doesnt seem to have made a difference, but isn't causing any problems either.

Have you tried updating your sound card drivers?

Also, did you do as instructed and update your video card drivers?

I've had many bad experiences with codec packs causing OS corruption / other stability issues. Also I don't see a need when VLC is in existence. The chance it doesn't support something is EXTREMELY rare, and if you do come into that rare situation, it'd be better to install the individual codec you need. Codec packs can easily be a problem and recommend against them, but do what you wish .

The problem seems unique if its still persisting after a fresh install with nothing like a codec pack installed. How is CPU/ram usage? What video card is it? What operating system are you running? It being a Galaxy nvidia card shouldn't be an issue. Galaxy is just another typical NV manufacturer and shouldn't be a problem unless the card is actually dead, but I wouldn't expect symptoms like you're experiencing.
