Hi there guys,

There's been a bit of confusion lately regarding what should and what shouldn't be sold on neocodex. I'll reiterate over primarily rule #6.

Quote

6. You may NOT sell anything that does not rightfully belong to you. This means that if you have scammed to get something, of used a fake login page, you may not sell it here.

Neocodex does not permit the sale of stolen or unlawfully acquired accounts, pets or neopoints. This means if you're selling a cracked account, a cracked account's pet or a cracked account's neopoints then you will be liable to ramifications on Neocodex (suspension or ban).

If you suspect a thread within the Trading Post to fall into this category - then please please please contact a moderator immediately with any evidence you have to back up a claim.

Sincerely,

The Administration

I'm glad NC has this rule, as it makes trades safer. It's also not really fair to lose an account through someone else cracking it or someone having a lapse in concentration (ie being scammed). There are so many more ethical ways to make yourself on NP...(like AB! LOL)

To prevent people getting your account from hash lists just make sure that any accounts you have on any neopets help sites use completely different passwords (and use very strong passwords on them) to anything else you use. That includes sites like IDB, thedailyneopets etc.

If you have an IDB account you should definitely make sure that the password if different to everything else as I have reason to believe that IDB is where the current crop of hashes is from. If you use the same password on IDB as your email or neopets them make sure to change them.

Agreed! TBH I only trust the users I know on here and would never ever trade with a newbie.

Sadly our trading board is right now invaded by hash list sellers and scammed accounts.

I personally find it disgusting Neopets are still using MD5 to hash. Have they not heard of SHA2?

The hashes don't come from Neopets, they come from neopets help sites. :/

It's sad that people are cracking other peoples account... But selling them is even worse. I'm glad this rule is there.

Because dumdums on other boards use the same exact username and password as their neopets account..

NC should be fine although it's good practice to use different passwords for everything really.

I've had my email stolen from other forums by the forums being hacked from an SQL injection or other script kiddie device.

Now I get spammed the same thing over and over again (and I report them to the ISP, over and over again).

With lousy forum security, it might even be a good idea to have a 'forum' email address.

One of my biggest fears is to be judged on the internet by a homophobic spammer who looks and sounds like a 12 year old asian girl who asks everyone to post their pictures, only to insult them and then threatens to leave-the-internets-foreva! when everyone looks cooler than him.

It's this simple: wear my patented vibrating heat-bead suit, then jam an unbelievable amount of pure, raw crystal meth into your system! You might ask, "Isn't crystal meth illegal?" You bet!

We are not failures here. No script kiddie will ever hack us. Those people are jokes. Our biggest risk would be a Ddos attack, but since we dont handle our server...not much that we can do.

I think the team here is the most competent forum I've been on...at least in a very long time if not ever. I'd have faith that you guys have a very low likelihood of being hacked, and not by a scriptkiddie.

Don't give out your email on here - the admins are the only ones who need to know it. Some douche bag just IMed me asking me to add him to msn, which would have given him my email.

Can I report this kind of thing to an admin? He seems really scummy.
