Who the hell cares? The only people opposed to it are religious fanatics with no sense of logic. If people are gay, they'll be gay. If people are straight, they'll be straight. So much commotion over who the hell we choose to sleep with. Fucking christ.

Also, I call people fags because they're being faggots. Not because they're gay. Just like I call people niggers for being niggers. Am I racist? Fuck no.

Nope, you're not racist or homophobic at all simply because you claim you're not.

You're right, I choose to exercise the wonderfully expansive part of English slang and use the word 'fag' to denote inconsiderate, annoying people regardless of sexual preference and I use the word 'nigger' to denote an ignorant, uneducated and foolish individual regardless of race. I must be rascist and homophobic. Clearly my acceptance of homosexuality and my workplace environment in which I'm the only one close to to caucasian support that.

Give up trying to best me. Your efforts could be a lot more productive if you attempted something that you may have success in.

Go call some black people niggers. Record the video of you getting beat up.

I have a wonderfully intelligent black friend that I call a nigger all the time. He calls me a cracker and a chink. Is it offensive? No.

For instance, when we were smoking last week and he knocked over the bong I called him a stupid nigger. When we loaded the pipe and I coughed the bowl out he called me a stupid cracker. No fists were thrown, amazing isn't it?

I joke about this kind of stuff ALL the time with my friends. I don't use harsh language, but it is along the same lines I guess since we joke about racism and whatnot haha.

Again, it depends on the situation.

If your friends know you are joking, then no harm done. If it is around some random person who you don't know too well, It's best to cease with this kind of stuff.

It's really just common sense though IMO.

This is correct. It's part of the current slang definition of the terms. Historically faggots and niggers are homosexuals and black people.

But the slang definitions have changed to a point where many fags aren't gay and many niggers aren't black.

There is nothing wrong with homosexuality, as long as the people who practice those actions do not interference with the personal comfort or belief of heterosexual people.

Personal comfort?
That's a dangerous can of worms to open.

I don't understand what you're trying to say here. What actions? Are you talking about sex? ....in front of heterosexual people? I'd like to add that I would not like to see heterosexual people having sex in front of heterosexual people either. And whose personal comfort or belief? Should I check and make sure with everyone I see on the street to make sure any action I take won't offend their beliefs in some way?

Luckily, at least in America, you do not have the right to not be offended. In fact, people should be offended by something every day. It helps build up tolerance. And tolerance, my friend, is what it's all about.

I didn't know you were gay Mikes :o Not that it changes anything :p

I've grown up where homosexuality is very taboo :S. Now I go to university where they are quite a few homosexuals, and I really don't know how to react to them :/ I don't know the social etiquette as it were.

Just treat them like you would your straight friends. Boggart I'm bi and you didn't know and treated me like anyone else. Just do that with your schoolmates.

In my opinion homosexual has been something that has been hidden in the dark, mainly because fear. Homosexuality is against several religions which have shunned upon the fact.

Personally I like to see women  do dirty things. But, being a guy, I hate the thought of two hairy-legged men getting in bed with each other. Marriage was meant for man and woman. eg. "Man and Wife"; "You may kiss the Bride". NOT "Do you take steve to be your lawfully wedded wife."

As long as I don't know someone is gay, I am happy for them.

Oh I'm not saying I SHOULD treat them different :o

It's just I'm not sure what's appropriate and what's not. like, for example, fat people. It's not that I treat them worse or differently, but there are just some things I can't say/do when I'm around them. For example, I'm not allowed to call my skinny friends fat because I know that'd just make them self-conscious :o

I know that, but I don't have any homosexual friends :/ So I just don't know what's appropriate, what's riske, what should never be done, etc.

*sigh* So lesbian or bi women are ok but bi or homosexual men aren't? You do know 90% of woman on woman porn is with straight women right?Posted Image

As for gay marriage why not make it legal? It doesn't affect your life in any way shape or form. It WILL happen in the next 10 years, I predict. So might as well get use to it.Posted Image

I fully support gay marriage. If marriage were just a spiritual and religious thing, then I can maybe see where peoples' arguments come from

But with marriage also comes rights and laws and benefits; something everyone should be able to benefit from. It's only fair that they deserve to be married too!!!

why the hell would I ask that? :p I do have common courtesy :p

You guys saying treat them the same just as any other guy, I believe that is completely wrong. Not because of morale standards but who the fuck they are. No one can deny that they have loads of more estrogen, and other shit that makes them women with dicks. People need to understand there can't be a high comfortable zone with gays. Sure I would be fine letting my dong hanging by women, but I'm sure they wouldn't be fine with it.. so I believe I am fine in saying I wouldn't be comfortable around them or talking to them as if I thought they were straight, otherwise I could offend them or some bs.

Well that's generalizing it :S But I do wonder why so many of them are so... flamboyant. Although "there can't be a high comfortable zone"?

It's not like they always just whip it out or something :S That's assuming their sexuality is part of their everyday life. I know for my my sexuality does not come up in day-to-day interactions with most people :S

In my eyes as I have previously said, gays = chicks with dicks. As such if I'm ever hanging out with the guys, you most likely wont see a gay guy and almost vice versa. The thing is if I wanted someone with whiny emotions around me, I would find a woman... not a guy. I know a couple of gay guys and our relationship doesn't really extend past 'hey'. I have nothing wrong with them but I just see no point in them. I'll explain that further if needed but I'm hoping you catch my drift.

That's too much of a generalization.

There are plenty of guys who aren't flamboyant, but are gay as well.

I still "hang out with the guys" and my sexuality doesn't usually matter unless one of the gusy makes a joke about it, which isn't a huge deal since I usually respond with a witty comeback.

Freaking generalizations....

And Boggart: I am glad I wasn't "too flamboyant" to where my sexuality was "obvious"

Haha. I was being a bit histrionic in my previous post.

Are you saying that "most" gay guys are effeminate?

What you define as "gay" is also up for question. If its a guy who would have sex with a guy, then I believe there are far more "straight-acting" gay guys out there than the "effeminate" gay guy.

Try reading Tearoom Trade: Inconspicuous sex in public places (the title is something like that, don't remember it exactly) - The book is about public "tearooms" or restrooms that gay guys would meet up and have sex in. This was from the 70's I believe. Anywho: the findings from the sociologist who decided to research this found that A LOT of the guys that went there were regular guys; many of them WITH A WIFE AND KIDS. I was a bit surprised, but not really. I am sure there are many guys who are gay, but don't feel comfortable fitting the "general mold" of "gayness". I like tennis and video games as well, so am I a jock and nerd as well?

What is the "big picture" you are talking about? If it is that you should grossly generalize, then I agree to disagree. Generalizations are fun to talk about with informed people and make fun of, but they do not help the general population's perception of the group being generalized.

It's 4:30 am and I have no clue why I am playing neopets right now.

To put it sweet and short, I hang out with the guys for guy shit, I hang out with girls for girl shit. Simple as that. Adding a gay person into the equation fucks it all up. Obviously not all gay people are feminine, but most are and even if they weren't it can still make circumstances awkward as fuck. With 6 billion people in the world, there isn't room for being generous (in the form or stereotyping or generalizing). Those need to exist for a simply way of referring to large groups or just any groups without a hassle.

Black guys eat chicken
British have bad teeth
Asians are good at math
Irish drink 24/7

Where the fuck is the world without it?

Imo it's just an orientation that's none of my business or anyone else's. Unfortunately homos get all this shit from religious nuts who like stick their noses in other people's genitals. Hopefully, future generations are going to be much more liberal and open minded.

Btw, my friends and I use "fag" and "gay" all the time. We're not homophobes we're just used to using those words in that sense =P
