I thought the 6 icon species abilities is not level dependent but like random. Is it really level dependent? That would be awesome if a higher level did consistently 6 icons!

Yup, I have seen from a few sources that it is level dependent. My pet is lvl 40~50 now and it does only 4icons.

Yeah it starts out at 4 icons, once you pass the level requirement for each pet it does more. Most species attack(that are able to do 6 icons) hit 6 icons after level 25 or so.
Example:
Lupe Breath, Available at level 20
Attack:
++ +++ 4 icons at 20, 5 icons at 22, 6 icons at 25

Okay, that is weird. Mine is a cybunny and idb listed a six icon attack.

Ziz man this is another very informative post. I'll try to get a guide on here for species attacks.It would be nice if you could also add the best attack's of those species.
That's because some species can look great, but you end up loosing advantage with their species abilities.

Yup, maybe someone with a pet at exactly level 50 would like to test that out.

Species abilities is useful in the sense that you won't have to take the 'recoil' damage of let's say, selecting berserk.

Species abilities is just like using cautious attack right? So 1x multipler plus the icons.

That would be awesome olion i was hoping to actually do a list like mine in the topic above but list each ability rather just the 6 icon attack.If you can that would be awesome otherwise I'll get around to it sometime.

I tested with my pet and a pet from a friend account. We are both in the level range and deal a consistent five icons. So the range might only be applicable at the start of the next boost. E.g. Lvl 40-43 does 4-5 but 43> does 5.

Ohh i see where you got the levels from. So this elephante ability doesnt always do 6 at higher levels but has chance to do 4-6. But where it is not noted then it does the max icons at the higher levels?

Have you tried a different pet? I wish I can help but all I can tell you is that once I hit 6 icons, I always got 6 after that, nothing less.

This isn't the case for all pets. I battle frequently for a pteri and i sitll random 4, 5 or 6 icons and I'm level 290+ . Some pets' species attacks do have level ranges, but we really cant assume your rule for all of them.
I saw a similar thing on resistances/weaknesses on idb a long time ago, someone put together a chart and also listed the most commonly used weapons in 2p to see how they stack up.
Top choices for resistances you see in the 2p league arena are: pteris (40% air against pcc/suap/gsword, etc) scorchios (air vs suap/pcc/gsword, earth vs gow/peas/fss/gbomb/istaff, fire vs gbomb/gow/pkiln), maybe some of the water defense like nimmos as we see a rise in kbt,
kaus arent that great because the resistance is spread over too much so you cant focus your defensive weapons on a few icons
