I'm pretty sure you should read the book again.Its only dangerous if you chug it...you can use some every day and you would be fine. Im pretty sure that it was mentioned that the guy who replaced Snape as potions master drank it all the time.

ok i wiki'ed it and even though it says it is toxic in high amounts it also says that the substance is banned in competitive events. I think that this implies that you shouldn't drink like a gallon of it a day, but you can still take a dose whenever you need it.. so its not like there's a limit of how many times you can use it before you die from poisoning...
