my stats at the moment are str239 hp/239 def only 95 but working on that once have other 2 to 250 any way with a def of only 95 what would be the best shield
I like the icon types that Gshield blocks more than faerie tabard. It stacks better with burrow and sink. But your def is kind of low to use defensive weapons effectively for 2 player battling. But in 1 player gshield could still be useful.

It is usually recommended to have both. That way you can block whatever is coming at you.
Dual shields still leaves you vulnerable to massive air and having both can be overly defensive in matches.

Pteris are resistant to air.

I know. However, I was talking of the shields not species resistances. It would be a better idea to have a Rotl/Istaff+Ftab+Pteri air resistance or one of the shields and a species resistance that covers the weaknesses along with dual duties. Ftab+Gshield together in the same set is still overly defensive as if your opponent has both Trident and Sos in his set you may not be able to predict his move and those shields don't do any damage so you could lose a turn because you predicted the wrong attack and used a Ftab for a Sos or a Gshield for a trident. Situations like that have made me switch over from dual shields to Istaff+Ftab+Pteri air resistance. And If I had to choose one shield I would prefer Ghostkershield as it stacks better with burrow and sink. But Ftab+Pteri+Ring of the Lost is also very efficient in mid level battling.

You're a dick. Why not just say throw in a TTear and m-skull? While you're at it, let's throw in a RoDN and Jade.

Ring of the lost is affordable you're not even looking at my post carefully are you? You could choose to use Istaff or Rotl. Rotl is very effective at his level of battling and I've talked to TJ idb rater and I'm only sharing what I've learned from him. If you look at my recommendations more carefully I recommended either Ghostkershield or Ftab Rotl/IStaff and Pteri air resistance.

My point = if he could afford an istaff he wouldn't be needing help with ftabs and gshields.
My point was that FTabs along with a good dual duty that blocks dark and pteri air resistance or ghostkershield alone is better than dual shields. I guess I should've taken price into account and not have mentioned Istaff. Sorry about that.
*Also forgot to mention that even though Trident goes through Gshield I recommend Gshield because in case you do 2p sink and burrow completely block water so the battle would have to last longer than two offensive rounds for Trident to be a threat (3-4 if the opponent has either a full blocker/healer or both).

You may be pressed with light though.

There are many dual duties that defend against light
However, mass air/earth are still only partially blocked, but better than nothing

If you only attack with evasive weapons you can get some icon advantage
But how are you supposed to keep that advantage without defending?
If your opponent defends and you dont, usually you loose, (or at least the other can suicide and get an draw, and you couldn't prevent his suicide if you've used sink/burrow before).
