im gonna boycott the 4g, apple has a contract with the company foxconn to make iphone 4g, the same foxconn that had 13 attempted suicides, with 10 of those being successful. So as far as im concerned buying the new iphone is supporting sweatshop labor

High suicide rate doesn't equal sweatshop labor :p. China's suicide rate is 14 people per 100,000 people. Foxconn's Shenzhen plant has 330,000 employees, and 13 suicide attempts out of 330,000 puts them at a lower suicide rate than China's. That said, they could do with a higher salary :p.

tl;dr: the mainstream media likes to make a big hullabaloo out of everything.

the people were getting forced to work like 12hour days just to make ends meet, as over-sensationalized as the media has made it i'd still feel guilty buying one of those things cuz i know people with relatives working in that plant.

What do you mean close an app from memory?

honestly, no.

I know that when you have more than 4 apps running concurrently, you have to scroll from the multitask bar to get to the older ones. I'm not certain, but I believe that all apps past 4 automatically clear from memory and the scrolling even further is just a handy tool to access things from earlier within an app.

The OS should try to hold as much in memory as it can... I don't think there is anything magic about the number 4 from a memory standpoint... just how many apps you can see at one time on the screen :p.

Just press the home button twice... press and hold the app icon in the multitask bin and click the red minus sign that comes up :p.

I'm not really sure. I prefer backgrounder which works better in my opinion. I just know that before multitasking, specific apps where able to go into standby mode like state when closed (such as Safari) so they don't free their resources for faster reopening time. If there aren't enough resources, apps on standby get completely closed out to free up resources for whatever you are doing. This is easy to tell in Safari by opening up a page (multiple pages goes faster), close Safari, do a bunch of stuff to use up resources, return to Safari, and if the pages have to reload, then you know the pages were cleared to free up memory and such.

As far as Apple's multitasking goes, I don't really use it much because I find Backgrounder superior. Maybe reopening the app and closing it normally is how?

Apple's apps are hard to compare with third party apps... apple enabled backgrounding for themselves without telling anyone about it before they opened it up to the public :p. And sure, if there aren't enough resources, it will free up some from an unused app to make room for what you are doing right now... any good OS should do that :p

There's really nothing much they divulge in the article, but for some reason Im quite excited about how it would turn out.
