I just found this rather amusing, especially in the US where now religion is playing a bigger role in politics.

"A new survey of Americans' knowledge of religion found that atheists, agnostics, Jews and Mormons outperformed Protestants and Roman Catholics in answering questions about major religions, while many respondents could not correctly give the most basic tenets of their own faiths."

"Forty-five percent of Roman Catholics who participated in the study didn't know that, according to church teaching, the bread and wine used in Holy Communion is not just a symbol, but becomes the body and blood of Christ."

"More than half of Protestants could not identify Martin Luther as the person who inspired the Protestant Reformation."

I would say its biased..Why? Because of course Atheists will know more about religion than any other group. It is because they are Atheists. =P

I just find all this stuff fascinating since a nation's collective psyche is mildly amusing...although very quite sad.

Take the test and see how you do.

It is because they are Atheists. =P

Actually, I would say it's why they are atheists.

My signature quote I took from a book called "Be Here Now" by Ram Dass (formerly Dr. Richard Alpert)

Wait.
Richard Alpert is/was a real person!?

Was that in reference to me?

The website this test was on appears to be Pew... which is probably THE research center in America for polling.

My signature quote I took from a book called "Be Here Now" by Ram Dass (formerly Dr. Richard Alpert) It is absolutely incredibly, even 30 years after it's publication. If I had the money in my account, I would actually buy a copy just to have codexians send around haha. It's amazing. :p I've read my copy probably 10-15 times minimum and find something I didn't pick up originally every time.

If you weren't talking to me, disregard all that... except to pick up Be Here Now/find it at your library. It's fantastic. I truthfully keep it at my nightstand table at all times.

I was asking warriors about the original post, but then I was snooping around the website and found it. This is fairly interesting. I wish it was worldwide though and not just in the US.

Here is another interesting poll. Although I could have guessed that already.

The wiki page is actually pretty interesting... even if it is a bit disturbing seeing the beginning of the most modern puritanical movement

I'm sure you don't need to study a bible to get those questions right, considering some of the religions mentioned there aren't even dominantly Christian in the first place.

Are you mad about number 15 as well? It's okay. *pat pat* No one gives a flying fuck who Johnathan Edwards was.
