also, check to see if you've activated them by going to Quick Ref, choosing your pet and clicking on "view abilities"
if they're animated, it means they're activated. if they're not animated, click on them and they will be

Next to the current wave in the bottom right (Tier 3 right now) it should say a green "Qualified".
