Everyone has a favorite song, but that song doesn't necessarily contain one's favorite line. So, what is it?

Mine would have to be from Emily Haines - Detective's Daughter. It sound's amazing and there is so much poignancy to it.

There are so many skirts under the table
None of these long legs are mine
She calls around finds me, crying
Wish I were capable of lying sometimes

Love is hell, hell is love
Hell is asking, to be loved
Hide out and then run when no one's looking

BOLd as love jimi hendrix

My red is so confident he flashes trophies of war
And ribbons of euphoria.
Orange is young, full of daring but very unsteady for the first go 'round.
My yellow in this case is no so mellow.
In fact I'm trying to say it's frightened like me.
And all of these emotions of mine keep holding me
From giving my life to a rainbow like you.
But I'm a yeah, I'm bold as love,
Yeah yeah.

Fuck you, I'm drunk
Fuck you, I'm drunk
Pour my beer down the sink I've got more in the trunk.

Wasalu Jaco - The Coolest

I love the Lord,
But sometimes it's like that I love me more
I love the peace
And I love the war
I love the seas
and I love the shore
No love for no beach
baby, that's law
But she doesn't see, therefore I spoil
I trip, I fall
run up and raw.
I love her, with all my heart
Every vein, every vessel,
every bullet lodged
With every flower that I ever took apart
She said - that she would give me greatness,
status, placement above the others
My face would grace covers
of the magazines of the hustlers
Paper, the likes of which that I had never seen
Her eyes glow green with the logo of our dreams
The purpose of our scene,
The obscene obsession for the bling
She would be my queen,
I could be her king
Together, she would make me cool
and we would both rule, forever,
And I would never feel pain
and never be without pleasure, ever, again
And if the rain stops,
And everything's dry
she would cry
Just so I can drink the tears from her eyes
She'll teach me how to fly
Even cushion my fall
If my engines ever stall
and I plummet from the sky
But she will keep me high
And if I ever die
She would comission my image on her bosom
To him
Or maybe she'd retire as well
A match made in Heaven set the fires in Hell

Regina Spektor - Consequence of Sound

My rhyme ain't good just yet,
My brain and tongue just met,
And they ain't friends, so far,
My words don't travel far,
They tangle in my hair,
And tend to go nowhere,
They grow right back inside,
Right past my brain and eyes
Into my stomach juice
Where they don't serve much use,
No healthy calories,
Nutrition values.
And I absorb back in
The words right through my skin
They sit there festering inside my bowels
The consonants and vowels
The consequence of sounds
The consonants and vowels
The consequence of sounds
Got a soundtrack in my mind,
All the time. Kids-
Screamin' from too much beat up
And they don't even rhyme,
They just stand there, on a street corner,
Skin tucked in
And meat side out and shot,
And I'd like to turn them down
But there ain't no knob.
Run into picket fences
Not into picket lines.
All this hippie-shit for the 60's
And another cliche for our time. But,
But a one of these days your heart
Will just stop ticking,
And they sorta just don't find you till your cubicle is reeking.

More than one line but I could just leave them all out. xD

Excerpts from "Midgets and Giants" by Sage Francis:

"You read me all wrong, Bello
You need to do your research
An emcee with a 4-song demo and you've got t-shirts?
Hell no."

"He's a rapper thinking battles were a meal ticket
Came time for the album and he couldn't write real lyrics
8 Mile wasn't true, shit head
It was a promotional tool, but not for you, shit head
So let me tell you exactly what to do, shit head
Don't be a fool, stay in school...shit head"

"Fake friends ain't got nothing to do with my world
If you ain't dead, you ain't a suicide girl
You can tattoo that to your back with the broken wings
Then hope for the best while you jump from buildings"

When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving slow
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said;

FEEED YOOOUR HEEEEAD

Pretty much one of the few things I actually like that came out of Wayne's mouth.

I dreamed I died, ended up at the gates of Heaven
Greeted by a man Saint someone, said how’s the ride son?
It’s been alright, at times a little rough, but why am I here?
You did alright, lived a little dark and that’s alright

‘Cause we made the darkside and the rightside is to have no fear, no fear
My whole life flashed in front of me
I saw everything that I was and what I had done
Even let me look back on some good times for a little fun
Yes, a little fun
And then I heard damn boy you done good
Did the every little thing that you could
And then I heard damn boy you done good
Damn good

When the sky opened up and the clouds parted clear
There wasn’t any doubt to why I was here
And I knew I’d done a good job, the best job that I could do
So now it was time to move on, to get on, to get back
To the question of why I was here and what I had learned, no fear
My whole life flashed in front of me
I saw everything that I was and what I had done
Even let me look back on some good times for a little fun
Yes, a little fun
And then I heard damn boy you done good
Did every little thing that you could
And then I heard damn boy you done good
Damn good

Paranoia is haunting you and all these dirty looks
They are right on cue
You're full up to the brim with that 'he said she said' trash
You exist behind your keyboard
Then you're gone in a flash

I am utterly disgusted with the path you trek
As inebriated as you can get off your latest pay check
I am at a loss for words here
I hate to break this to you but being a coward is not a legitimate career

We were born and raised the same way
So what gives you the right to say
(At least I'm not a liar)
We were born and raised the same way
So what gives you the right to say
At least I'm not a liar
At least I'm not a cheat
At least I don't care what these god damn mindless people think of me

10 bucks says you don't have it in you
To conquer fear and quit believing what they tell you to
You are careening shamelessly into oblivion
You will live alone with your chemicals and gin

An example of some of the gems in that song.

Water, fire, air and dirt

And I don't wanna talk to a scientist

Like many songs, but to me that this is now marking this

All tht I'm living for - Evanescence

All that I'm living for
All that I'm dying for
All that I can't ignore alone at night
All that I'm wanted for
Although I wanted more
Lock the last open door
My ghosts are gaining on me

I believe that dreams are sacred
Take my darkest fears and play them
Like a lullaby, like a reason why
Like a play of my obsessions
Make me understand the lesson
So I'll find myself, so I won't be lost again

All that I'm living for
All that I'm dying for
All that I can't ignore alone at night
All that I wanted for
Although I wanted more
Lock the last open door
My ghosts are gaining on me

Guess I thought I'd have to change the world
To make you see me
To be the oneI could have run foreve
rBut how far would I have come
Without mourning your love?
