In Topic: Anyone having problems with the top navigation bar?

I don't have the problem that you described, SL, but the navbar misbehaves most of the time. <_<
Namely, 99% of the time it shows 'MILONIC' instead of 'Board Home' (!!!), and sometimes gets a mind of its own when I roll over it to reach 'view new posts'. All in FF0.8

In Topic: How would I "un add" a word on microsoft?

02 May 2006 - 03:44 AM

Lol theres an easier way. Tools - Auto correct - Look for Armoury - Delete the entry. Voilera

Yes, but for some weird reason it doesn't work for me. That option is either grayed out, or behaves in totally unexpected ways (!) O_o, so I devised a foolproof way instead :p

After a few minutes of messing around I found a way how to edit your dictionary. However, it's been tested only on Win98 and Office2k. On other OSes and Offices it's a gamble, but should work nonetheless.

1. If you have any instance of MS Word/Excel/etc. still running, close it.
2. Open (via My Computer) c:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\Proof
3. You should see a file named 'CUSTOM.DIC', open it in your favorite text editor
4. Find the offending word ('armoury' in this case) and remove it, making sure you don't accidentally leave a blank line behind
5. Save the file, close the editor and restart MS Word.
6. Just to be sure, test if the word is recognized as valid. If not, you're done.

In Topic: You think you had a big phone bill?

I'm not amazed by this (my parents work in a monopolistic (ie. biggest) phone companyin Poland in the customer service dept...), but what makes me *really* wonder is:
Is there even so much money (200 tril) in any particular country at all?

In Topic: How to build your own basic motor

Ah! Wait a few minutes while I find a very easy one for ya :)

EDIT: As promised, here it is:
http://home.hiwaay.n...lmer/motor.html (scroll down there somewhat)

Alternatively,
http://sci-toys.com/...ro/electro.html - it's a version with pictures and better instructions

It requires just some wire, a magnet and a battery. I've tested it personally several months ago and it works fine if you follow the instructions.
