If cheating while using a proxy, is it safe to play on your own IP legit at the same time?

AB on a proxy while playing legit on my own IP. Is it safe?

Finding the exact end of an auction

Is this possible? Some legit people seem to think it is, but obviously wont tell. I've already tested to see if the approximate timers change right on time, but as expected they are slightly random so I don't think it's possible to get the exact auction time from them.

Any ideas?
