in response to the argument that the embarrassment of being showed on television would result in the perpetrators being less likely to seek out help, i couldn't disagree more. first you have to consider that within the spectrum of individuals who rape/molest children there are those who think there is nothing wrong with it and those who do see that it is a mental health issue - so those who are able to feel embarrassment and/or shame might actually be helped. but as far as clinical treatment goes for rapists (child or otherwise) there is no cure/method that has proven successful.

then you have to take into account that the majority of individuals who maltreat children where maltreated themselves in a similar manner. so entrapment or not i feel as though it is justified in that it has the potential to prevent this cycle.

i am having a debate/discussion with an idiot via facebook currently - i am at the point where i am beyond frustrated and would like to continue due to the ramifications surrounding the misinformation this woman is posting, but am utterly worn out due to her obtuse, idiodic manner.

that is when i realized that when i generally get to this point i have no problem leaving it as most Sweeney swoops in
