#2026725 Would you have a kid with your friend?

Posted by Mishelle on 10 August 2018 - 05:13 AM

My parents broke up when I was really small. But they always remained friendly and respectful of one another (as long as I can remember anyway). They co-patented me just fine. I think it was a better scenario that they broke up, worked their shit out and became friends while I was really small so when I grew up I never had to deal with watching them fight or bad mouth each other. I was also raised by my aunts and my grandma. I think the nuclear family model isn’t the best which is probably why so many couples break up shortly after having babies or go through a rocky period because their whole lives become focused on the kids. I agree that it does take a village to raise kids.

I heard that there’s an increase of friends having kids together and just Co-parenting rather than seeking long term romantic relationships and having kids. I was actually talking about it with my friend John. We both have baby fever, and of course he’s super gay. We think we’d have cute kids.

If you were single and wanted a kid, would you have one with your friend and Co-parent? Or does it sound like a recipe for disaster?

Ive been good! I graduated college, got a job with a small business, got promoted in a lil over a year now I’m the youngest manager in my company. I just had them hang up a giant Beyoncé poster in my office to solidify my place as queen bee of the building.
And I’m dating a soundcloud rapper who’s poor but he has a good heart and even better dick

#1996390 This is a srs question

If you were in prison and you had a partner would you be ok with them sleeping with someone else?

Backstory for anyone who cares to read:

My friend has been "dating" a guy in prison for 3 years. Up until 3 months ago she was also sleeping with dudes while she was in this relationship. Now that the guy is out she caught him with another girl and flipped out. I personally don't think she should be surprised because she has been sleeping with other guys during this "relationship" so why is it wrong for him to see another girl? If she wanted monogamy when he got out she should've been specific about that instead of sleeping around (and telling him about it btw) and just expecting him to be ok with it.

So what would you do if you were in this situation? I know what you're thinking, "I wouldn't be in this situation, Mishelle, I love myself," but try to suspend your disbelief for 5 mins.

#1996030 Are we a party generation?

Posted by Mishelle on 02 November 2016 - 07:06 AM

Honestly I think past generations have got us beat. Decades ago they didn't have camera phones and social media so the parties would get really wild. The wild drinking parties during prohibition, the orgies in Studio 54 before the AIDS epidemic. I don't think we've got other generations beat at all, I think we're just more public about it since everything is on social media.

I'm glad Donald Trump ran for president. It exposed a lot about this country that most people don't want to acknowledge.

Why is your user title "Bitch Of The Boards" ?

Probably the same reason yours is "Ableist Neocodex Elite Four Member"

If you got to have one superpower, what would it be and why?

Teleportation so I can teleport and vacation anywhere in the world. Or teleport myself into a bank vault and rob that bitch.

You are correct. I suppose I just hold the Private Leader to higher standards - being that they should not be rude and disrespectful to other members.

This is Codex not the United Nations. But anyway I'm glad to find another person who agrees that sex work isn't inherently empowering. Usually when I voice a negative opinion of porn/sex work in feminist circles I'm accused of being a SWERF.

It means that he had two responses to one post directed to neither of you - one of those responses being a rather rude rhetorical question asking him if he is able to read by the Private Leader of these boards.
So it probably means to keep his chin up and to keep directing his posts to who they are intended for, especially since it is Jess and she is always very respectful.
Because I don't know about you, but I would feel extremely disheartened being new to the boards and having the Private Leader ask me if I am illiterate.

Well I'm pretty sure when you post on a public forum anyone can respond to it whether you're specifically talking to them or not. Don't act like you've never responded to a post that wasn't directed at you before. The point is this conversation has been going on for a while now and it's annoying to watch a person jump in when they clearly haven't educated themselves on the current trajectory of said conversation.

What's the cure?

Did you actually read the conversation from the beginning before you decided to jump in asking questions about things that have already been addressed?

I don't know what she said about it but this is a super unpopular opinion. I definitely agree though. I try to see the flip side where porn empowers women but I just don't agree ..

Yeah. Like I do believe that sex workers should be protected and we should listen to them in regards to what they say will make their jobs safer but ideally I'd like to work toward a society where people don't have to engage in sex work. I guess anything could be empowering individually but I don't agree that porn empowers all women when most porn focuses solely on the pleasure of men.
