It's really sad to see how many videos are uploaded to the internet of bad things happening to people and there are more people recording the situation than positively reacting to it.

#1839419 Lucian's Raffle for Charity: January

Posted by Lucian on 30 December 2014 - 02:45 AM

In my line of work higher ups try to always encourage giving back to the community abroad or at home. I spend at least 1 hour a week doing charity or volunteer work. To be honest it's one of the most rewarding things I do each week.

In order to enter you must have a signed Letter of Appreciation from someone of a supervisor or managerial position.

What's an LoA(Letter of Appreciation) you ask?

Usually, when you are doing volunteer work that needs to be documented, a Letter of Appreciation will be given to you upon completing a task that was assigned to you or fullfilling a certain amount of time you pledged to volunteer for. If your charity or volunteer group doesn't usually hand out LoAs you can always ask and I'm sure they will be more than glad to write one up for you.

Never volunteered before? Don't know where to start?

There are always TONS of volunteer opportunities available all the time, any place, anywhere. Doing a little online research can help give you a push in the right direction. Websites like VolunteerMatch.org is a good place to start. For contestants from outside the U.S. I'm sure there are lots of ways to find volunteer work. Google is your friend.

How to choose what kind of volunteer work to do:

You can practically volunteer for anything! Whether it's working at a food drive, animal shelter, soup kitchen, mentoring others, tutoring students from a lower grade, help with building projects in your local neighborhood. Choose something that speaks to you or that you'd enjoy doing. If you don't like it the first time you can always move on to something else. Volunteering is a personal CHOICE. No one is making you do it.

How the raffle works:

Fitting volunteer work into your schedule can be extremely difficult so the raffle will  be open all month long. The winners will be announced on the first of the following month when the next raffle begins.

In order to enter you must submit a username tagged LoA(Letter of Appreciation) dated within the same month of the raffle. For example, if the raffle is being held in February, you have to volunteer in February.

How the winners are picked:

In order to rule out any biased picking this is how the winning LoAs will be drawn. I will print out card sized copies of the LoA which hav been entered, throw them into a hat, shake them up, and scatter them onto the floor. The first three cards that my dog picks up, in that order, will be chosen as the winners.

Entries Due: 31JAN15

Winner Accounced: 01FEB15

The satisfaction of helping others. That's the main prize! But of course, there are Neopet related incentives.

The first place contestant will be able to choose ANY NC item that is currently stocked in the NC Mall gifted to an account of their choice.

I know this type of contest is prone to run into integrity issues with entries that can be fabricated. I will try my best to research every LoA and volunteer that is submitted in order to validate it. The real point of this is to encourage others to go out and lend a helping hand, aid someone in need, help feed one thousand cats in some animal shelter. If you want to FAKE helping others just so you can win some damn Neopoints, I think that's a punishment in itself to live with those kind of values. You need to get your priorities straight booboo.

Don't think anyone will help you because we don't know what exactly you're going to do with that account. Wouldn't want to risk getting chain frozen.

At the end of the day it does matter. You're looking at this one-sided when views on the Quran are so subjective. Because at the end of the day what is to you is not the same to someone else.

#1360170 [GUIDE] How to compose your own SS list

Posted by Lucian on 08 November 2010 - 03:44 PM

First off if you have no idea what a Score Sender is or what a Score Sender does please refer to this guide made by jcrboy: [GUIDE] sLAUGHTER's SS

First and foremost I would like to put it out there that Score Sending is extremely risky. You should never, at any point, use Score Sender as a main source of income for Neopoints or use it on your main account. I have been asked a lot lately for safe lists that have the lowest chances of getting your account frozen. But I have to say, the lists with the lowest chances of getting your account banned are the lists that you compose yourself. If you use Score Sender you want your lists to be unique to your accounts. You don't want hundreds of other Neopians running around with the same lists as you because this will only increase your chances of TNT catching on to you. With that being said I will teach you guys some, hopefully useful, techniques on how to compose your own Score Sender list.

Open up a new Notepad file and save as the title you want to give your list.

The basic formula for constructing a list should always be listed in this format: GameID: [Insert ID] Score: [Insert Score] Time: [Insert Time]

Example: GameID: 368 Score: 418-424 Time: 270-290

If you're new to to score sending I advise you to pick games that have a high Neopoints-to-Score Points ratio. The higher the ratio the easier it will be to score a bigger payout. Games with the highest ratios will be listed at the end of the guide to help you get started.

Game ID:

The Game ID can be found at the end of the URL of each of the games' homepage. ie:

No matter how high you score, each game will give a maximum payout of 1,000np. 1,000np should be divided by the Neopoint Ratio.

If you don't know where the Neopoint ratio is then it can be found under the game's option menu. ie:

If the payout for every game is 1,000np and the NP Ratio is 0.27 then the lowest score that you should have on the list for that game would be 3703.7(Rounded). This means that every time Score Sender plays that game it will get a score of 3703 giving you a payout of 1,000np. However, having the same score for each time you send it in will most likely result in you getting iced. So after you get the minimum score for a game it is always safer to have the Score Sender vary the score by adding a hyphen followed by another score that is ten to twenty points higher than your low score. [ie. 3703-3723] This will give your scores a more legit look. But, if you have a huge gap between the scores like 3703-4000 this will increase the chances that the next score will be extremely different from your last thus making your scores very suspicious.

There is also a Mod feature in the score sender where if you were to say you want to get a score between 1300-1400 but the game ends in 0 or 5 you would Mod 5.
Ex (Mod 5):
1300, 1305, 1310, 1315.... 1400
Ex (Mod 25):
1300, 1325, 1350, 1375, 1400
Ex (Mod 100):
1300, 1400

The mod goes in the end of the line so the format would be
GameID: [Insert ID] Score: [Insert Score] Time: [Insert Time] Mod: [insert Mod]

I would like to add that getting a 1,000np payout for each score you send is extremely dangerous so try to mix it up a little. It would be best just to settle for 750np and taking the 250np lost than getting your whole account iced.

Try to stray away from getting listed as one of the top scorers as this just brings unwanted attention. It is best to keep your scores off of the grandmaster level. You can see a list of the top scores by navigating to the bottom of the game's main page and clicking on the star.

This is the most important part to your score list formula. If the times are too fast, ie. it only take you thirty seconds to score a 1,000np payout, then that score will be reviewed and you will get iced. Same goes for if it takes too long to reach a certain score. The best way to figure out what times to put are to play the games yourself. Getting a feel for the first few levels will help you get an understanding of the difficulty, scoring, and timing of the game. Remember to keep the timings sensible and logical. Remember, the point to use a Score Sender is so you will not have to waste your time playing games. Not to come up with a whole bunch of Neopoints in thirty minutes. To make them seem more legit just vary the times like how you previously did with the scores.

Trial & Error:

You will not get every formula right on the first try. You will get some reviews. If you do get reviewed and survive to see the next day then just go back and adjust the scores and times accordingly.

Pace yourself:

If you compose a 250k list split it up into three or four sections having generous time gaps in between. No one plays games for 3h straight. At least not that I know of.

High Neopoint Ratio Games:

Joderi's list of game ratios

Enjoy! I hope this is able to help some people out.

#1360100 How important is sex to you in a relationship?

Posted by Lucian on 08 November 2010 - 12:00 PM

On a sort of side note, I know this guy whos GF wont consider anal (never has) , and now he's questioning how much she really loves him just because he really loves it, and she wont even try. Thats sad, but sort of funny. I'm sure there may be more to it, but it looks like this was the first rock in the road that may break them.

Wow. That is sad. I'm pretty sure she should be questioning his love because he doesn't respect the fact that she doesn't want to do anal. xD
