Awkward Everyday Stuff > Passive Aggressiveness at its finest

Posted Kelvin on 04 January 2019 - 01:21 AM

Here's the last two solutions. I've come full circle. I've become the Sweeney whomst've used blogs to post answers. Worth if it meant more people posting blogs. Conundrum #2 - Answer: Angelpuss Smiley
Neoboard themed.
All the horizontal boxes were the English subforum names for the boards.
The "English only" was originally meant to be a referen...

Awkward Everyday Stuff > The neopets black market is a buyer's market

Posted Kelvin on 30 November 2018 - 10:30 AM

Nothing in Neopets is worth spending hours on the game to achieve.
(with the exception of spotlights like lookup, art gallery, and the Neopian Times that carry real creative skills outside the game, but that is neither here nor there.)  There is no reason to spend 30+ hours within a quarter of the year in the Pound Chat bumping boards, faking politen...

Awkward Everyday Stuff > Slowly bumping Sweeney's puzzle blogs out of relevancy

Due to popular demand, as in mildly requested by Neoquest, here are pics of my rabbit.

Meet the former Penelope Ostengarde of Poppy Starcluster, currently dubbed myself as POOPS. The title former is due to the fact that at 11 months old, it has been confirmed that a "female rabbi...

Awkward Everyday Stuff > "A love story" by Kelvin

They both fell silent, blinking.
It took a second for Jamie to process that Taylor was underneath him after the sudden fall. To retain as much dignity as possible, he sprung upward, but Jamie felt belted down by two slender arms.
"Where's the rush?" Taylor's tongue smoothly flitted along two rosy lips.
Jamie felt a chill. Something bad w...

Awkward Everyday Stuff > Thanks, Dave, for the game, I guess.

My editor told me my last submission was... crap. Bless his no-filter heart. Two major reason reasons for the crappiness:
the lack of magic I'm willing the reader to work with (they need more substance, less concept--too much tell, not enough show)
characters are three dimensional, however too simplistic
So he forwarded me this writing game,...

Awkward Everyday Stuff > Today's Random Thoughts With No Context.

1. Given that Hell does exist, mine would strap me into a chair and force me to watch every moment of my mortal life without a break, in repeat.
2. I have six people in Codex I want to apologize to but there's something, whether by weakness, fear, or inferiority complex, I have always found a seemingly legitimate reason to not do so.
3. A youn...

Awkward Everyday Stuff > I am crying right now, to be honest.

Posted Kelvin on 23 June 2015 - 11:19 PM

I was reading on all the course materials for next semester (i.e. syllabus, required texts, clinical dates, conference schedules) on Blackboard. On the clinical spreadsheet, it showed who was with what hospital/institution/doctor. I found my name and I'm scheduled for Mondays at 7AM. Bummer, but I'll live. I looked through the list to see if I'm grouped w...

Awkward Everyday Stuff > Don't psychoanalyze me.

This morning I had to drive my dented car to an All-State Insurance Inspection center or whatever it is called to get an official car repair quote onto my claim. If you didn't know, I got into a "car crash" where a tried to merge into a New Jersey Highway. Being a good New York Driver, I expected signaled looked at the mirrors, and accelerated appropriate...

Awkward Everyday Stuff > Hypocritical bastard speaking

Something from last week is still bothering me.

A good friend, Irene, is moving back to North Carolina from New York. We went to the same undergrad university up North. Three years ago, she went back to NC to live with her parents at the end of our second year. Last year, she alone moved back to NY alone to make a life for herself. She admitted she longe...

Awkward Everyday Stuff > Hand Print Turkeys, Cornucopias and All that Jazz

My school has an NRHH chapter and they decided to do an appreciation mural that is ongoing until after Thanksgiving break. On it, students or faculty or anyone really can take a leaflet, write the person’s name whom they want to appreciate and a sentence or two describing how they positively impacted their lives or why they are thankful of them and stick...

Awkward Everyday Stuff > How do you become vulnerable? A 2AM Rant.

Posted Kelvin on 14 August 2014 - 08:32 PM

Keeping things on the down low but you can guess the context so whatever.

I did some things, some people critiqued it and I am done reviewing through the multiple channels of correspondence. The worst critique was a "meh/bland" which I don't mind since I feel like I half-assed about 15% of the work. The best was a "wow, I totally get you and hit me up fo...
