Recommended 1-P Battledome sets, 2018?

21 June 2018 - 09:18 AM

*Imagine if I had a REAL weapon*

So, I'm a filthy casual and happily so and will probably never fight in 2-P battledome for fear of Chia/Kacheek Flour, Eraser of the Dark Faerie and such rubbish. I'm happily doing 1-P battledome!

What would be a great set that would be fun to play around with for 1-P that doesn't break the bank? For CURRENT META.

Let's assume I:

1. Have a pet that has sufficient HSDM for this purpose. (I don't but I am working on it)

2. Budget is flexible up to 100 million NPs.

3. I have no desire to show off fancy, rare, elite items such as 2x Super Attack Peas, Grapes of Wrath and such.

I have been trying to get info about a great high-end 1-P set but most people only care about 2-P.

My current set is:

Kelpbeards Trident
Sword of Reif
Hubrid Nox Memorial Shield
Everlasting Crystal Apple (tells u how much HP I have currently, he he)
Turned Tooth
Randomly Firing Freeze Ray
Ghostkerbomb
Downsize!

Is this set good enough provided I have enough stats? I could get my hands on a Leaded Elemental Vail, but that would be for much later when I have much more HP.

Yes, I am aware training takes precedence. However! If I were of above average stats, what would be an upgrade for this set for 1-P Battledome (if required at all) and reasons why. What would some realistic alternative sets be?

Also:

1. Is Grapes of Wrath really necessary since Wand of the Dark Faerie has similar distribution and is multi-use? Or if one were to have a Super Attack Pea? Would bombs then be redundant?

2. Are shields, reflectors and blockers really necessary for 1-P?

3. Is it worth splurging on a super freezer (Moehog Skull, Marbles of Mystery) when there are TWO abilities that give freeze once per battle?

4. Are bombs necessary if you already have powerful constants like WotDF and SuAP?

Weapons I am considering:

- Sword of White Lies (icons suck but damage is high?)
- Wand of the Dark Faerie ('nuff said)
- Illusens Staff (combo with Wand?)
- Deaths Knell/Maractite Dimensional Trap (downgrade of Moehog Skull with 50% freeze)
- Sword of Lameness (for... fun??)

What else should I consider WITHIN REASON?

TLDR: What is a good high-end 1P Battledome set for above average stats within the limit of 100-200 million NP?

What are some of your favourite 1-P Battledome sets and why?

How Risqué is it to AB? 2018 thread

21 June 2018 - 04:14 AM

Ignoring the lame title; how risky is it nowadays to AB in those so-called high risk shops like Merrifoods, Kauvara's, Stamps, battle & defense magic and what not?

Has anyone been frequenting those areas in recent months? Have the neopets admins been less on-the-ball about policing these red-flag shops? I'm curious as to whether the old cautionary tales are still true or if security is more lax now that there are less players.

Sharing is caring!

Neopets slowed to a crawl? 18/06/18

17 June 2018 - 06:23 PM

Looks like neopets website is going through some stormy and turbulent weather. Can barely get it to load on any of my browsers. Well, it does load, but like, reallllllyyyy slow....

Anyone else suffering this or is it just me? Just giving a heads up as Abrosia seems to be struggling connecting to anything. Haha, poor old girl...

So no AB-ing at this time, no flash games at this time, no gym (because it's raining over here where I live and I'm  a weak ass who can't be bothered to get wet in order to exercise) so I'll just stalk the Neocodex forums...

Perhaps I shall play with my cat-sons...

D-Day (Dupe Day) 2014

13 June 2018 - 07:35 PM

To any and all members who went through this turbulent and traumatic time (profitable for many?),

Came across this National Dupe Day (week) news that happened way back in 2014 after I had stopped Neopets for a while. Was curious enough to see what had happened and lo and behold, I was flabbergasted and annoyed at what I had missed out on.

Since I assume that the methods have been patched into oblivion and that duping that way no longer works, I would like to request (if it's not against the rules of the forum), that someone share how this came to pass. I've read through the previous thread from the '14s and I know that a lot of private/retired members knew the Way but did not/could not share for fear of newbs exploiting it. Now that that is no longer a risk, I would like to know (because curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought him back...),

How does it work? What did you have to do? How was it discovered??? I have so many burning questions that my curiosity demands be satisfied!

Allowing members (or at least Advanced Members) to be able to manually adjust item data...

07 June 2018 - 05:14 AM

Hey there,

Title says it all. I'm creating this topic specifically for the Neocodex management team in order to request for members or at least advanced members, to be allowed to manually adjust item prices in the database. If this might cause too much of an issue with conflicting sources and people trolling, then perhaps we could create a topic board where certain members who are active on Neocodex still to be granted these useful admin powers.

I would like to nominate myself! Hahaha. In all seriousness, I am still active on Neocodex and am constantly having issues where the ABer purchases items that have far less value that reflected in the item database. I don't have an issue with items being priced under their actually profit; I'm not lazy and I can do the adjustments myself. Unfortunately, the ABer doesn't have an exclusion option to take out items that I don't want and the program is often found buying sets of 10 or more items that are actually way less profitable. My example will be the Blue Lupe Paw Lolly, listed in the item database as ~13k NP and in actuality, sells for maybe ~1.6k-1.9k if that. While I still gain a profit, it's rarity and market saturation are both such that it makes it quite difficult to sell and would prefer if the ABer does not buy said item.

What are your thoughts? Could we allow item database input powers to be given to a select few? Any mods/managers can comment on this?
