In Topic: Failed Investments

all my investments are NC. and they all end horribly. trading my gmc wig for a couple ny in fls just before the bd caps were released made me completely give up on nc altogether.
and its not really a failed investment, but i did buy like 50 skarl and saskia trick or treat bags when they were given out, before i realized i'd have to buy a few hundred to really make a difference xD

I agree with punk. It doesn't seem likely that everyone is out to get you because they're all jealous that the owner likes you. If they are always talking shit about you, or complaining to your manager about you, pay attention to the shit they are saying and the complaints they're making. I doubt everyone is being mean for the sake of being mean. If they're complaining that you never clean, but your owner has told you not to clean because she wants you up front and wants them cleaning, why doesn't she explain that to them? Or why dont you?

The owner is very particular about who works in the front. She's very concerned with the relationship we hold with our clients and when we've tried new people on the desk, the customers get upset or something. They don't like handing their dog off to someone they don't know or trust.

People who pay the amount of money they do, for us to watch their dogs, love their dogs like children. I love my dog. They are devoted to their dogs.

It sounds like the new people just need more/better training. No one is good their first day :)

In Topic: Post Your Last Purchase

my most recent purchase was new running shoes because i left mine at my friend's apartment and she swore she couldn't find them, and a couple weeks later she moved and they never turned up. they aren't that cute, and they felt a bit weird in the store, but i hear they're pretty comfy.
Spoiler

i had to order my size so i haven't received them yet.
before those, my last fun purchase was clothes. the jeans were on sale, and the top is a lot cuter on than in the pic
Spoiler

its pretty much my favorite shirt since it goes with everything. and i can't imagine a body type it wouldn't flatter, so if any other girls live close to an aerie, i highly recommend going :)

edit: the link shows a teal top, but i got it in cream.

In Topic: What's the worst/ dumbest customer you've ever had at your job, or se...

I worked as a cashier at michaels (the arts and crafts store) and we had a lot of shopping addicted regulars. like they were legit shopping addicts, they'd come in everyday, wander around for a couple hours and just picking up random stuff on sale. then they'd get to the register and after i told them the total was $300 they'd spend 30 minutes slowly going through their merchandise trying to figure out what they didn't "absolutely need". bitch you have 60 notepads from the dollar bin and 5 cat calenders, stfu. anyway, we closed at 9, 11 during the holidays. one night one of the regulars came in at 730. the store was empty that night other than her, so all the registers but mine were counted off early. since we only had one customer i asked if i could do the final walk around after i did the closing announcement. usually i have to stay up front so that when we tell customers we're closed and they need to check out, someone is there to check them out. but since there was only one customer it wouldn't be a problem.
anyway, my manager says sure and i run off to kick her out. she's checking out our like $40 paint brushes in fine arts when i go up and say (in my super sweet retail voice) "Excuse me ma'am, its 9:05 and we just closed. Can I help you find something or are you ready to check out?" Her back was to me when I started talking to her, and she never turned around to face me, but as soon as I said that her whole body tensed up. Her back straigtened, her grip on her cart visibly tightened, and I swear she grew a foot taller. And since she was a BIG woman to begin with (7 feet tall and broad, all muscle), I was pretty intimidated. I could tell she was upset, but I didnt know what to do so all i said was "Ma'am?" She didnt say a word she just grabbed her shopping cart, charged down the aisle, turned down the next one and headed for the door. Halfway accross the store she started hardcore cursing. Like crazy homeless person cursing. Just gibberish that didnt make sense. And she was throwing everything out of her cart so that when she got to the front it was empty.
My manager and one of the guys on the floor are at the front in front of the doors since you have to open them manually once we close. They see her coming and my manager tries to say something, and the other guy is like "let me take your cart ma'am" since we keep them inside. She keeps cursing and PUSHES HER CART THROUGH THE CLOSED SLIDING GLASS DOOR. I just started screaming, I couldnt help it I was so horrified. Everyone just stared at me after she left and my manager was just like "what did you say to her?!?!?"
anyway the glass is apparently made not to break (it was ripped off and fell to the ground and she just charged over it), people came to put it back in the morning, and she showed up a week later like nothing happened.

and then another time someone took a dirty packers shirt out of their laundry, turned it inside out, slapped one of our plain craft shirts stickers on it, and tried to return it. i was just like "ummm.... we don't sell these shirts... SOMEONE (stare at her) just put our sticker on this shirt."
