I'm in the same boat, although I did dabble with codex a few years ago.

I never played this game, though I heard about it. Maybe I'll give it a go, thanks!

I played techit (sp?) long ago and really loved it,more recently I've played PE while at work which was a good way to pass the time.

I got my first shiny when I bought a used pokemon gold version (steelix). I didn't catch my first OT shiny until X and Y which was a Trapinch, his IV's/nature were garbage as I remember so he was just there to look pretty.
