You should kill SS after determining that it's missing the VC redistributables instead of having it falsely assume there's no solution.

If it's a popup game can it still be SS'ed?

The only games that can't be SS'd are shockwave games.

It creates a network thread for every item in stock that's a "hit".

 

If there are 3 items "hit", each with 3 in stock it will throw 18 threads at attempting to buy everything.
