Stamp Inflation?

11 April 2013 - 02:52 PM

I've collected stamps on neopets for longer than I care to admit. I have restocked at the stamp shop on many occasions including manually rather than using an AB. I've been noticing a slow but gradual increase in the prices of all but the most common of stamps. I've posted some links below that perfectly demonstrate what I'm talking about.

I have of course handpicked some the graphs that best show gradual increases without wild fluctuations but overall, stamps seem to be going up in price. There is of course the exception of newer stamps which are decreasing in price until they reach the point where the level off naturally. I have many theories of what could contribute to this.

1. The increased number of stamps leads to the stamp shop being more full more often so fewer rare stamps can appear during restocks

2. It's just general inflation not specific to stamps related to an increase in the NP supply

3. More people are collecting stamps because it's just plain awesome and cool to do so

4. TNT just arbitrarily decided that stamps should restock less often than they used to

Thoughts? Has anyone else noticed this? Am I just plain crazy? Have you guys noticed a gradual inflation in your item categories?

Question about item database

06 April 2013 - 02:52 PM

I had trouble figuring out which area of the forum to post this in.

When you look an item page in the item database, there is an "item owners" section with a link to some shops selling the item. I was wondering how the item database knows that those people are selling those items. Do you have to have abrosia automatically put your restocks in your shop and price them for you to get put there? I usually use those links when I have a faerie quest.

Five second rule?

I first started noticing today that on some of the items abrosia tried to buy but didn't, it says "Five second rule" instead of "Sold out." What does it mean?
