The Pant Devil has an evil twin?!

16 June 2015 - 06:32 PM

Excuse my clickbait.

Today while using the ValorSuite kad feeder I was notified (and given a screenshot of) a random event that I've never even heard of. The text reads: "The Pant Devil's evil twin hands you Christmas Korbat Morphing Potion, stolen from his brother. He flies away cackling madly."

Now we know two things:

  1. I got my second free morphing potion ever (I haven't looked up how much it's worth yet, so I'm still slightly excited. Probably won't be in a minute.)
  2. Pant Devil is a TITLE in reference to an individual from an actual biological species on Neopets that is both capable of reproduction and possessing a concept of family as well as good and evil. Cool.

Regarding proxies

16 June 2015 - 04:52 PM

Is it suspicious to TNT if my shells change proxies daily (sometimes multiple times daily?) On one hand, I could just say I use Tor with one IP per session. On another.... They wouldn't believe it. I'm considering purchasing long-term IP addresses for each shell, but it TNT doesn't find IP hopping suspicious at all I'm not going to bother.

No one's been frozen recently for AB'ing (except in the infamous magic and slightly safer stamp), but I want to keep myself as safe as possible. That's especially prevalent now that I've been AB'ing fewer UB items. My shells have started to use their shops rather extensively and thus have more at risk if I get frozen.

How to tell if a pet or item is stolen?

14 June 2015 - 05:31 PM

I was reading the Tumblr blog that was essentially legit players stalking UC or VWN'd pets and reporting any "suspicious" activity regarding them. There were absolutely loads of accusations and they got me thinking. I don't have any UC pets, but one is limited edition + painted + WN'D (has no numbers or underscores, is a real-world name.) I'm mostly worried that people will look at my account eventually and say that my pet HAS to be stolen/hacked due to the name, even if it is uncommon.

Another unpainted pet has a canon name in reference to a book series. Another has a variation on a real-world name. All of the pets are older, with the exception of the last one. Is there any way I can prove that the pets are mine AND legitimate if something comes up? Obviously I can write a ticket and TNT will know that the pets haven't transferred anywhere, but that doesn't convince other users. All of my pets are customized and taken care of. Additionally, my only pet that isn't WN'd is training as a BD pet. It's also the oldest.

In the future I'm looking toward purchasing a UC pet (mid to high-tier) and would like to know that no one was scammed/taken advantage of in the process of obtaining it for myself. I may be a cheater when it comes to getting money, but in the event that I go after a UC I would rather not be involved in harming other players.

Neo is lagging!

10 June 2015 - 04:33 PM

Today is the day to dupe items from events, etc. I got 4 treasure chests from FS and 10+ scratchcards. I got this as a surprise and don't have much to do to abuse the glitch, but other people may have better luck benefiting  :)

Clearing HTS Items?

31 May 2015 - 01:39 AM

I know the general idea of what makes an item ETS versus HTS and I generally avoid those over the HTS end of things. My question is: how do I sell these items without cutting my profit? One of the greatest factors in if an item is HTS is price. The lower the price, the greater the pool of people there is who are willing to purchase the item. How do I find balance? Recently I've managed to restock several items worth millions, but that levels out when I have to drop the price significantly in order to actually sell it. I'm still making a profit, but not what the item is worth. Items with a smaller profit percentage work differently. They sell faster, but some (a lot) are oddly specific.

Most of my high-value items that I have trouble selling are collectable keychains. Understandable, but Abrosia bought them because they were well over the amount requested. Other items within a more reasonable range are from Uni's and are super specific (as in exclusive to one pet) and are HTS for that reason in spite of being a more reasonable price. Another issue? Restocking food is hardly worth it unless it's a quest item or gourmet, so that would require a list.

All in all, how do I clear out my HTS items? I offer 20% off to resellers and bulk discounts on similar items. Is there any way to sell the items without having to do that? I could've had an 8M day today if I didn't have to cut down so much. So far I'm at about 500K while the rest is waiting to sell. Barely made a profit. I do realize that sometimes all I need is patience, but there are items that have previously been ETS from my legit days that just aren't selling any more. All advice is welcome, though I recognize that this could up competition between players.
