I. The Dawn of Codex - January 14, 2004
It was the dawn of codex. Not many members were here at that ti'me.
We were mostly unknown, only on msn groups.. Some of the first members included Moo, AUS, me, and others..
It was lonely, very few members came a month.. Only about 2 or 3.
II. Getting off to a good start - March 3, 2004
Around this ti'me it was going good.. We had about 30-50 members..
The legend around that ti'me was AUS. He was just about the only programmer there at the ti'me.
We will never forget hi'm. He was a good friend, a funny one at that.. He made many programs
and they all went to public. We all thank AUS.. His programs are now in retired though.
There still wasnt a community though, just all based on neopets..
III. Codex V2 - April 7th, 2004
There was around 100 members at this ti'me.. We had to completely restart codex as the bandwidth was killed.
The problem was everyone thought we were shut down by neopets and the head of codex (which was currently rdd, me, and hydrogen) were going crazy trying to figure out what happened. And the next day we found out it was the bandwidth.
So anyways we had to restart, we lost many members as they couldnt find us again.. The new ones anyways.
Neopets had known about us but they thought we werent much of a threat to them. This was the dawn of Codex V2.
The community was STARTING to develop.. Some of the people were friends..
IV. In comes digibliss - May 15th, 2004
We were known.. But the one site that totally despised us was digibliss. We had never done anything to them, and they were the definition of corruption. Digibliss was a greedy site that tried to take everyone down. They lied, they even told their members things that werent true.. The one who started this all was Neo_Grl and Digital. They were the source of corruption in Digibliss. It caused many problems with codex.. They just kept finding ways to mess up our site.
V. Codex V3 - June 6th, 2004
After the problems with digibliss, we started to become normal again.. We had about 150 members at the ti'me..
We started to be invitation-only at that point.. The members decreased, but the people that really didnt care decreased also.. This helped codex in a way. Some people didnt like it, others thought it was a good idea..
The community was starting to become a community.
VI. Digibliss strikes again - September 8th, 2004
Once again digibliss was trying to take us down.. Neo_grl made an announcement on digibliss to post pages with lots of I'mages from codex and keep refreshing them over and over and over.. We had to temporarily lock the site for a while..
It eventually ended.. Digital was being a CENSORED about denying the truth.. They said bogus things like we gave you a chance and stuff like that.. It was all a lie. I believe the DDoS was only mini'mal..
VII. Down comes codex - October 3rd, 2004 - November 1st, 2004
Due to all the problems with digibliss and such, people were just getting sick of it and leaving. Neocodex was starting to become corrupt. People were flaming others, saying mean things, just being assholes to eachother. It was all pure corruption and things like that.. The members decreased to about 100 members.. It was a big problem.
Eventually things started to come back to normal..
VIII. Houston, we have a problem. Code RDD - January 4th
(This was newely just added)
Everything was very well, it is just like it is now. Exept for one member that we thought we could trust.. Raredaredevil. He was one of the creators of codex, but brought shame on codex also. He has threatened multiple ti'mes to shut us down, and has even taken over www.ncodex.com to distribute his programs (warning these may scam you). He was a friend to me, and his latest threat was to create a worm that would DoS codex and dramatically decrease the members. I was the source for most of the information. How it worked, when it launched, etc etc. He has hacked me many ti'mes before, and many others too. We should have never trusted hi'm, and we will never forgive. He is like neo_grl and digital. Pure corruption with no remorse or feelings for others. Just some 18 year old that just has sex (that may not even be true), hacks on the computer, and other things like that.. He by far is the most disrespectful, unbelievable, and dare I say it UNDENIABLY an asshole to say the least. This is a ti'me that we cannot forget. We gave you so many chances.. But we were wrong. You are corrupted.
IX. Present - Current ti'me
We have been increasing in members and its now all about the community.
Just about 98% of our members stayed because of the community. It is what codex is. It defines codex.
At codex nowadays, you can tell your friends whats happening and they will help you through your problems.
This is the difference between us, and the other websites.. Its only partly about neopets now.
Codex isnt just about neopets. Its a place where you can have fun and get a few laughs.. Be comforted when you are depressed.. Its just the reason I stayed. Its the reason everyone else stayed. About 75% of us dont even play neopets anymore.. We stay because its where our friends are. And if we left, they would be sad. Ive posted about this before, you might have crossed it.. Anyways, we are better than ever. There is mini'mal problems between the members (there still is some), but its just the way it should be. Lets keep it this way.
Now you shall know the basics of codex history
If anyone would know it would be me.. Because ive been here longer than ALL of you
Go ahead, ask hydrogen. Ive been here longer than anyone xD
(Additions: I added the RDD section)
