So my lit teacher told us we could ask her boyfriend, who is a lit major, for help writing. He was even subbing for her a few times. I sent him my essay, he then sends an email back and asks for 50 dollars, saying how he will get me an "undisputed A".

Its simple. Nobody likes to bid against themselves. By giving an offer, they are effectively admitting that they'll end up paying more, as you jack the price up. On the opposite side of the coin, if you' as the seller give the price, YOU now are bidding against yourself, as you effectively admit you won't get a higher price. Its a lose lose. I say trading should be done so that both sides submit a blind bid to a anonymous 3rd party, and then the mean of that bid is submitted to bo...

I dont like offering because if my offer isn't the exact amount they had in mind they mostly just leave the conversation instead of counteroffering.
