Not sure what part of the country you're in Derriere, so that might make a difference. In MA, I worked in restaurants for a few years, most of the crew wasn't white in any of the 3 restaurants I worked in. Attitude is everything, in the interview let them see in your eyes that you're willing to work hard, and eager to. Just my advice. As a hiring manager, I wanted to hire the hardest worker, the person who would show up on time for every shift, and come in on their day off if I called and asked them to cover for someone who called out. Also, post college, I had applied at over 100 places - only two places wanted to bring me in for an interview.
