NC shoppers, can anyone tell me if prior to retiring an item TNT will always announce it in the news?

If an item in the NC Mall has a star, click on it and it'll tell you when it retires. They don't always announce it.

The ones without a star are usually permanent (until TNT decides they will have a super sale and then retire those items)
