Guess the story was too dirty for CNN and Fox News since they would have had to include pics of the dirty boards. I'm amazed that it might have been too dirty for Fox News.

Not in PA, at least where I live in PA. Each state mandates a certain number of hours/minutes spent in class, so some schools may be able to do half days every week.
