For me I have a rare but recurring dream where I have the ability to fly. Last time I had it was about 2 months ago but it was incredibly vivid. I could just take off into the sky and fly everywhere. I wished I would never wake up from it. I wish death was like that tbh; you just float away and explore the universe for as long as you want. :p

On the other hand sometimes I have really awesome dreams where I realize it's not real and I get very disappointed. Because no matter how happy it makes me I realize it's going to end soon :(

I have awesome dreams but my recall is lacking and I struggle to achieve lucidity. Like sometimes I'm aware it's a dream but I can't really control it. And my dreams are always so surreal, missing so much background detail

    I envy your dreams :(

I remember a bit back someone on Codex posted a theory about death wherein as you die your brain gets starved of oxygen causing you to hallucinate and time gets slowed down (from your perspective) to the point where a few moments gets stretched to an eternity and you get to live in a dream world indefinitely. It was a pretty interesting theory. iirc there was some interesting science behind it.

Hmmm, that's interesting. But what about the oxygen deprivation would cause time to slowdown? I mean in a dream time does slowdown but what would make it infinitely slow?

I had my own theory about dreams:
I said that the mind needs to occupy itself with a reality. When you're awake it's getting all sorta of sensory cues from vision to hearing and etc. but when you fall asleep it has no choice but to make up it's own dream world that it can receive those signals from. Why it needs to occupy itself is beyond me; but the cool part is long after I thought this up I read something very similar to it in this book.

They had an example in there about those sensory deprivation tanks. They tried different experiments on people. One of experiments involved playing a game where you were told to think of a random object then another object that begins with the last letter of the previous one and so on. After playing it a few times they were told to relax their minds and stop playing the game. Multiple times subjects would hit the panic button and opt out. All of them said their mind would constantly play the game no matter how hard they tried to stop.

It was one of the reasons the author cited for the theory.

haha those dreams are much better than mine xD my dreams are usually my day-to-day life with a few things that don't make complete sense (such as it taking 5 minutes to walk from my house to school, which would literally take hours IRL)

Although once I was dreaming, somehow knew it was a dream, and thus told myself "It's a dream! I can do anything! I can fly" and then I jumped off my roof and died in the dream xD

my dreams aren't really that surreal. the only 'surreal' dreams i have are nightmares .. haha. the good dreams are just really "normal" situations sometimes when you're in the dream you don't realise it is a dream.

with that said i don't really have any dreams like that i've never wanted to wake up from, but i did have dreams that i did WANT to wake up from though.

    duh....of course I had..I mean...who wouldn't want to wake up from a nice dream?

sometimes i have the ability to control my dreams. but those dont last very long...lol by "controlling" i mean i can make anything happen by my own will...

those are the best dreams lol

    It was me :p
It wasn't so much a scientific theory as an interesting concept that explained my experiences with near-death, and remained consistent with my ventures into lucid dreaming, as well as my personal philosophy.

I'm impressed that you, that anyone, remembered that topic xD

Yes! Sometimes I have dreams where It's not that I can breathe underwater, it's just.. I don't need oxygen when I'm underwater.
    Flying dreams..
Vivid dreams of being in the middle of a brilliant city at night.
Sometimes I have anime/videogame dreams too.
Then I have to wake up and go to school.
    *tear*

I usually have two types of dreams.

One dream is a really vivid nightmare that I keep getting, the same thing happens and the same people are in it, only it in a different place every time. It's quite dark and distorted and really reminds me of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas meets the Saw movies.
It basically consists of me running around some eerie/abandoned place trying to escape. Mean while I keep finding people either missing limbs/have limbs of animals (usually elephant trunks or horse legs) or they're being tortured. I remember one time I woke up suddenly because I was so freaked out. I dreamt that I was running and running through a creepy hotel trying to get out and I ended up in the kitchen and there was a big oven with someone squeezed/contorted into it and they were being cooked. I just remember hearing screaming and then I woke up.

I really hate those dreams but I never get to the end, I don't know what happens D:

The other dreams I get usually involves me taking the role of my favourite movie at the time or replacing a band member in my favourite band. At the minute I'm the new guitarist for Avenged Sevenfold :p

Well if anyone was interested it seems what Joe typed up has been lost forever

Swarley when you say taking the role of your favourite movie you mean you replace a character in it or become a character in it? Like you'd become Hermoine or would you be Harry Potter's side kick #3? :p

Tonight I dreamt I had a pony and lived in a graveyard. It was very nice.
Sometimes you don't want to wake up from a dream, even though you can't really explain WHY the dream were nice.

Take a ZMA supplement and prepare for lucid dreaming!

I had a dream which I could fly about 2-3 months back too :p But sometimes I can't xD Its a funny dream, I flew as long as I believed I could. The view was spectacular, can't remember much but it *could* have been a nightmare for all I know.

There's this one dream that I keep having that I really struggle

to hold the memory of when I wake up, but I have faint bits of it.

My boyfriend and I are in Mexico with a group of others and we're

all traveling on this tour bus, and we stop at this hotel, and

then my boyfriend and I are sitting on this elevated couch. Like,

it's got to be at least six or seven feet off the ground.

Anyways, he takes his shirt off, and then just like, lays flat

on top of me and starts singing.

I gotta say, I really like that dream. Posted Image

It's kind of depressing though because I usually wake up right about then,

so then I just have to imagine what the following parts are. Posted Image
