Test drive a Chrome notebook.
We have a limited number of Chrome notebooks to distribute, and we need to ensure that they find good homes. That’s where you come in. Everything is still very much a work in progress, and it’s users, like you, that often give us our best ideas about what feels clunky or what’s missing. So if you live in the United States, are at least 18 years old, and would like to be considered for our small Pilot program, please fill this out. It should take about 15 minutes. We'll review the requests that come in and contact you if you've been selected.

This application will be open until 11:59:59 PM PST on December 21, 2010.

They are shipping out 2,000 of these a day until at least 60,000 have been given out.
Google will not tell you whether you get a laptop or not. You'll know when it shows up or doesn't. Alternatively, use this guy's tool to track shipments in your city. Must be 18+ and live in the USA.

It's not that great to be an American. Or at least recently, conditions seem to be declining T__T
I almost signed up for this, but I don't know much I'd actually use it over my regular laptop. Or I'd try to load Ubuntu onto it, and completely nullify their OS test driving =P

Heh, I figured it'd try it. I'm desperately in need of a new one - my current laptop has gotten even shittier. Now it keeps saying there's a "USB Device Not Recognized" when there's not even anything plugged in. Now it plays the most annoying sound in the world every 2 minutes.

I saw this. I don't want them tracking my stuff (its in the discalaimer at bottom) and they want you to use it as your main computer. Which is just not possible for me. I had it all filled out but I realized the thing would just sit there.

Use it as a porn laptop, then return the laptop to them with the max HD capacity filled with pornography.

Thanks for the heads up, Scot.

I doubt I'll be selected as I routinely use Mozilla and Apple products... OTOH, perhaps they will try to win me over because of it? :p

My guess is they want to give one to all groups of people :p This way they can get a realistic concept of who may purchase. Test marketing.
