I know what you mean. Sometimes the dying irritates the hell out of me cause it keeps catching my attention. I then end up feeding it, once in awhile.

Personally, I prefer seeing my tyrannian bori sad than happy though. Just seems to look better.

i only feed them when i get gourmet food, or when my conscience starts pricking me. (happened only 2x in 3 mths)

I prefer my pet in their sad pose more too. I only bother feeding them cheap gourmet coz it's impossible to obtain the trophy for gourmet.

pixels are pixels and have no emotions. This isn't the neoboards, you don't have to pretend that we give a flying crap about the pet's happiness

The images exist. Not the pets themselves.
It's meaningless to speak of their 'rights'. Digital images have none, and nor should they.

The fun of the game for a lot of people is pretending that they aren't images, and that's fine. I just wouldn't suggest trying to justify it with moral arguments.

Haha, I've been watching Chuck lately and you sound like his handlers - "Emotions hinder you, so just be cold and heartless"

It's a game, and to each his own. I guess it reflects upon you as a person - are you more practical or are you more of a caring person?
It's not like if you don't feed them dung, you have to feed them draik eggs or anything. Personally, I'd just throw them in the neolodge - it's pretty cheap and you don't have to worry about feeding it every so often.

I don't get attached to the pixels, but when I do pick up a game, I like to think that I can beat the game and be a boss at neopets and for me, getting attached to my darn pets hinders this.

The statement made sense. He basically said the pets are just images, not real pets. He understands that people get enjoyment out of making their pixel pets happy, and pretending they are real, but trying to tell other people that they should care about their pets because they are real and trying to impose morals on others is silly.

in all honesty, the only time i really feed my pets is if i want to take them to the battledome. is there really any other reason to feed them? o, one of my pets is in the roach towers right now, hunting down his daily protein as we speak

I think you took my words too seriously.I never (neither there,nor in a real life) tried to enforce my opinion to others.What they do it's none of my business,and I don't know what you call morals.I just said what I wouldn't do because I don't like it and yes ,I told with a smile about virtual pets' rights, is that really hard to get that I'm joking this way? And now,there is a fight about nothing..It would be great if people could take everything not that seriously,especially when it's written.

With that many pets in the roach towers, you'd expect the number of roaches to decrease. But nooooo, still roach infested

Don't take it to heart I don't like feeding my pets gross stuff, even if it's all just pixels. It's not surprising to get somewhat attached if you're actually playing NP because you like the game, and not just to make as many neopoints in the shortest time possible.

I'm not really emotionally attached to my neopets, but in all games I play, I would never like to sell my first account of the game even if I could get a bit of money for it (depends how much I guess, I haven't be good enough at anything to get an account worth over like 20 bucks except for neopets but you can just sell NP and pets in it). Also, I wouldn't like to have a pet that someone else named. As for feeding them, I don't care if they're starving.
