Mapping NQ2 was the most boring thing I have ever tried to do, ever. I asked for help, but no one ever stepped up, so I scrapped the project. It's played mainly for the prizes. There are three difficulty levels to finish the game on, with Normal giving the worst prizes and InSaNe giving the best. The pro NQ2 players I used to know had long ago gotten their prizes from insane mode (you can only get a prize from insane once) so they would spend their time winning Nightmare prizes over and over again to sell. They're all BD items, and NQ2 is the only way they enter the economy, so they're pretty rare and valuable. Most of them anyway. If you're looking for quick NP though, this is not the game.
Whoever was talking about GS scripts... we should talk. There is a lot of potential for this sort of thing on NQ, but you have to approach it carefully. If I were well versed at all in the programming side of it, I would tackle the project myself. We (neocodex that is) used to have an NQ2 'trainer' that basically sat and battled for you, eliminating the hardest part of the game. But the second hardest was navigating from one boss-fight to the next. Essentially it's done with cartographic skills :\
Im bored What are you up to?

What's the point of mapping it?Mapping NQ2 was the most boring thing I have ever tried to do, ever. I asked for help, but no one ever stepped up, so I scrapped the project.
Man, I don't even know the object of the game. :|

I assume it's so the program knows where you need to go at which stages of the game and which moves are illegal. The object of the game is to, um, get a lupe to fight a bunch of other...evil neopets and...in a million years you get stuff and a trophy. I've tried to play it a couple of times, but having the page reload every step you take gets frustrating. What's the point of mapping it?

Now when you say mapping, do you mean a map of everything, or do you mean scripts to get from point A to point B?
I really do like NQ and NQ2, but an autobattler is practically necessary as that game gets real old real fast.

I had a fully functional program for the entire game, save for the kind of navigational structure that I wanted.

Well if you ever decide to revive the project for whatever reason, you have at least 1 volunteer.

All the code was lost when my harddrive blew up at universityWell if you ever decide to revive the project for whatever reason, you have at least 1 volunteer.
It was in VB6 anyway, so not any use now.

If they were the same game, why would they have different titles? What fucking neoquest are we talking about?

I thought they're all the same game whether it's NQ I or NQ II.
They're both browser-based RPGs, but apart from that, the mechanics are almost completely different.

Trying to keep only one character alive is much more frustrating than spreading the job out amongst four characters
