It's rather sad that simple programs often are the downfall for many of these players.

I would suggest giving these items to yourself. By this I mean creating a new account on Neopets, publicly giving the item to your new account on a board which people can see and read all the neomails of the hacked asking you to give back their items on your new account. For shits and giggles if you will.

Well, under that logic, just put them all onto Trades and Auctions and watch everyone cry and yell and go crazy over them. Would be fun to watch ;).

Equally sadistic. All though auctioning it could in theory have all the TCers cooperate to get back the items. Even at 1NP increases they would still be capable of pulling it off. TCers are a very united board despite their differences.

I'm laying low for the rest of tonight, TNT are hot on my tail every account I log into. So the agenda is to unhash some more victims, laugh about stardose_iced, maybe to a giveaway board on Trade Chat later tonight :p

Not TCers, no. They would all try to snipe them.

Sounds fun, send some my way... actually, no, don't.

Thus leading to a massive snipe war and leading to crazy rivalries and people starting to hate each other. Would be amazing to see the best of friends becoming worst enemies over some pixels.

Well, good luck with that. I wish I could get a rare item but it's often best to not meddle in the affairs of those who walk darker paths.

    Exactly what crossed my mind...

Don't want to make any enemies out of this chaos that's going on.

I think that if the scammed items are sent to random accounts, they'll all be frozen for association :/
Just discard/donate the items to the money tree lol

I'm so hypocritical in this issue. On one end I condone it, but I would never object to receiving mildly safe items.

But that's exactly what the point is, to cause mass hysteria over the game, to further implement the thought that any random person can get frozen or "hit" from this fiasco.

I decided to read the clusterfuckery going on in the BD Chat and it seems that all of them believe it must be a mass attack. Some claiming that it must be a disgruntled ex TNT member since they have access to the accounts. It's pretty entertaining to be "in" on what's actually happening.

I've read that they think people can change the numbers of NP and NC you have, is this true?

I have no clue. Just read one user claimed he had 200M from his account with no outgoing bank transactions such as auctions or trades. I highly doubt they can trace where their NP went but I imagine it's possible. Enlightenment please?

To be honest, I would, I really really would, though my knowledge of coding, cging etc. are at a bare minimum, and I just don't have the time to learn, yes, I may be here, but once work starts, there won't be any time :(.

I would but in my failure I'd end up being caught, arrested, sued, then later be sent to jail for a murder I didn't commit. I have mad luck like that.

To be honest, if I was given that kind of power, I'd be biased and only go after people I /really/ didn't like instead of everyone xD
Making people hate their lives feels really good.

Well, I prefer to spread the wealth around so it all goes into shops. A colleague of mine stated the he had a fool-proof way to transfer NP without being caught but I'm still waiting for him to deliver the goods on that one.

So not even the CGers have got that one pinned down. Looks like that's the bane of beating the system.

    FREE STUFF PLOX!

No don't, not getting into this one.

I read that 200m one too, where I got that question from, who knows...

Well, I have no doubt that we'll get it down eventually. Its not like NP are serialized or anything, just need to find the way under the radar. Theres always a way, it just might be messy :p

    Bah, CGers.

I'm perfectly happy to cheat under the radar.

I welcome you and hold you as free of the CGer umbrella as I can, but it still feels like a dark mark on your record.

Doesn't mean you don't deserve a chance, though.

Reading this thread just sent me into hysteria.

Now I'm not the most tech savvy guy out there but I know that never click any suspicious links unless I know what im definitely gonna get.

If it isnt against your trade, care to enlighten me, is clicking on links the only possible way of me getting my cookies grabbed? (wow sounds weird)

    Im just curious. :p

P.s - When I read your first post and saw CG i actually thought you needed people that do Computer Graphics. -facepalms

Well, if its a mark on my records I can't help that. I was putting forth an effort to help out my new community! You could hop on the train too.

As for the most recent wave of CGs Baro, you don't need to click any links. We basically use FlatNux in order to run blocked script on the page, it can be coded almost anywhere. The only defense against it is to run a NoScript addon everytime you're online.

I searched for any information I could find about the actual cookie grabbing process a few months back, but obviously had no luck. I'm interested in it simply from a nerd's perspective. I don't want to steal anybody's account, as (no offense) that's kind of a dick thing to do. I'm just really curious about the thing works.

How long has this particular exploit been working? Is it something quite difficult for TNT to prevent again?
