Is there a certain stat range for a pet that's labeled that way? I see guilds advertising that you need certain types of pets and I didn't know what that meant. Any ideas?

It should mean league four. IDB has a chart but I heard that most BDers do not care/adhere to it.

    The ideal L4 would be:
    HP: 57
    Strenght: Boost 20
    Defense: Boost 35

Why are the defense and strength stats so different and what makes that stat range "ideal?" seems like most of those ideal stats have a much higher defense boost than str, do leagues weigh a higher str boost as more powerful than a higher defense boost?

They are not so different. Almost all of them are just one Boost higher :/
Probably you would need to know a little more of the battledome to have a clearer idea about this.

They only put a higher defense than attack so that shields could be a little more helpful and TO open more possibilities in battles. If it were a higher strenght boost than the defense, icon-based shields or dualdutys would be almost useless.

Attack weighs more heavily than attack does, so most ideal builds take advantage of a defence boost 1/2/or even 3 boosts higher.
