This is probably the only reason I keep Neopets open all day. I think it's fun... I'm only building my colony, not going on raids or being raided. When I got back to Neopets, I was looking for a MMO where I could mine resources and build crap with it, and I'm getting that through the Habitarium. I hear the payout is really weak though. So how about it? And do you guys have a strategy on how to work your colonies?

FYI I'm only on level 26 right now.

Yeah I usually turn if off and start it up again every now and then to get things moving along.

I play for a while...then I don't go back for a few days and they all die. I hate trying to repopulate after that happens, but I also hate feeling that I have to play to prevent it.

I've not tried Habitarium yet. Seems fun though.

How do you repopulate after they all die? Do they give you a free nester egg or something?

Uh huh. When mine have died, I've gotten one or two free nester eggs - though I don't know if the number relates to your level or how many died or if it's random. But since the species is random and I hate the walking pustules that are Larnikins, I usually try to keep at least a couple of other nester eggs unhatched in my inventory.

Yeah I'm pretty stocked on Nesters right now... I believe they provide the best experience turnover. Pinchits are my favorite though

Oh, definitely. If you're not worried about running out of P3s, discarding eggs is fantastic EXP. Pinchits and Mootixes are way cute.

Hey, it's not my fault that you have a colony of creatures that look ready to burst into puddles of pus.

I take it back if you've painted them Snow. (Is that an option yet? I don't pay much attention to the NC stuff). Little snow Larnikins are precious.

I used to play. I'm at level 24. Now I can't be bothered and I haven't checked back for ages. I'm expecting everything to be dead and I'm not really looking forward to rebuilding only for them all to die again....

I tried it until level 10, but an extra 100k isn't enough to make me want to play it.

My colony consists of:

2 Soldiers
6 Workers (2 dirt, 2 stone, 2 wood... for making nests)
Rest are nesters. If the nesters don't have a nest, then they're harvesting shit until they have a nest to sleep in.

And I try to make all of mine Mootix, for those who were wondering about my species preference.

I'm not making a Habitarium cause it'd mess up my UL LOL.
but it doesn't seem that exciting and I feel like I'd waste even MORE time on Neopets than I really should

I go back and forth. Some weeks I can't stay away from it and then other weeks I can't stand to look at it. And then other times I forget about it all together.

i play it on three dif accs, i'm totally addicted! i have it open all day on my main, too and i'm at lvl 35 now. my fav species are the fat red ones, lol. but i started to get all three species back, looks better.

lol thats quite a boring game imo. stopped at level 4. i dont think you can get a lot out from it. the rewards from levelling up arent that good.

Lol I did the same, but with Mootix instead...I saved a nester of the other two species tho.. just incase I wanna get them back later.

I'm at level 30 right now. I started playing a couple of weeks ago and then forgot about it and had to rebuild from scratch. Since I'm already on Neopets anyway, I don't mind just leaving the browser open. The extra NP doesn't hurt, but I wouldn't use it as a main source of income or anything.
