Hey Sala, I believe a long while ago you said your family runs their rescue in Idaho? I can't remember the exact name but supposedly the place that had the pure wolf mother and 97% wolf father was in Idaho. Tipi something I think. Know any rescues or any place like that up there? If so, have you seen their "wolves" there?

It's not my family, but a close knit family run rescue. We had received several HC's from the Idaho/Oregon border and one or two from Washington.
TP Kennels? Tom Evans runs that place, he has 1 mid and 1 high and numerous lows. He use to be pretty selective on who his pups go to and at one point was advertising F1s but someone verified that she was an F3 from a Tenessee breeder. Well bred, but still misrepresented.
We had one of his pups, she had a great temperament though and lives in Canada now.

Ah yeah, I found his website. His high has the wierd, almost defect in the forehead.

The conditions are extremely cramped and poor at the moment.

Quick Storyline: (If you are at all interested?)

At their previous place, they had no water or electricity. Their well which provided water broke and the landowner was SUPPOSED to be responsible for fixing it but refused. The owners of the rescue had lived for months without water and had been trucking it in for the animals. They got sick of it, refused to pay the extra $1200 to fix the well on top of rent since that was the landowners job. They were evicted and had to find a place to live in quick. Only 3 days were left by the time they found a place. The landowner had someone at the house while the rescue owners, me and matt got things out of the house, rounded up the dogs and kennels and supplies and such. All was going well until the guy kept flipping on us: "You can't touch the dogs until all the stuff out of the house is gone!" then bout 2 hours later when its PITCH black outside, "You have to get the dogs out before you can get anything else! No kennels, no dog houses, nothing".
On the last day we had everything set up. We had gotten the FEW things they needed out of the house. We had another rescue that was gonna take 7 of the dogs that were left and the rest, one of the owners and I could easily round up. The landowners helper told us, "Why don't you put food in the pump house to trap some of them and get them into the car?"
Course we thought that was a good idea and were glad he was helping. Animal Control had said that this guy though, because they were evicted and he wasn't allowing us 24/7 access to the dogs there, HAD to care for the animals while we were away. meaning he had to feed and water and do all that. He never did. He gave us a small extension since the last day of the "3 days left" thing he couldn't meet with us at the house. Those two days, he didn't feed or water the animals at all. So when we went there with the other guy from another rescue, prepared to get ALL the dogs and ALL the kennels and fencing, we had to feed them to calm them down a bit and grab them. We were working on this when he suddenly started yelling at me and the owner to get off the property. We fought as much as we could saying we were doing as we were told and getting the animals. We could do nothing else that day but get ahold of cops and animal control and see what could be done. Grant it, they never helped for shit. So instead of the 20 - 40 kennels we could've gotten and would have gotten that day, we ended up with a measly FOUR. That's why the conditions are cramped. We can't let the dogs run around cause they're notorious escapers and fight with the other dogs that are now also in kennels. Things are desperate right now though and that's why they're posting on CL asking for help for supplies and why I'm doing this right now. We got screwed over that day and things are STILL being worked out but none the less, we're shit out of luck on space. We aren't getting those kennels back and all we have now are quite a few garage doors that we've been making kennels out of. But those suckers are heavy and takes a long time to build.

Im getting tired of walking outside everyday though and seeing these dogs like this. I try taking them out of the kennels to get their excercise when I can though. But any help you can lend is greatly appreciated. I just want these guys out of these conditions.

TP Kennels is it. I was thinking TP Rescue or something.
The owner got 3 pups from them. Yona, a very large white malamute. Claimed to be an Arctic wolf though by them.
She also got Stormy (The one I said is supposedly an F1) and Thunder also supposedly an F1.
Thunder was pretty high content though. She no longer has him though. Stormy, like I said, looks like she could be but her coat is nothing like a wolf's.
The dog I said may be the only true wolfdog there came from Thunder though. Thunder is from a (I think) pure black mother supposedly that 100%. Maybe that's the F3 you're talking bout? I would like to know the content of Stormy and this other dog if there is any content at all =/

Yona looks like the first white dog in that pic. Just much bigger

Below is a brief summary of our parent Wolves / hybrid wolves.

All of a sudden our "runt" looked like an arctic wolf. Snowhite has an extremely playful personality when interacting withthe other wolves.

How much content is Snowhite? Do you know? If they used her as a breeder its possible that's Yona's mum. All I know is that 3 (now 2) of the dogs that the owner had, were bought from there.

I don't know the parents of Rain but she has something similar to that. But not /that/ pronounced though. But you can definately tell there's something weird with her head. I almost do wonder if she's part of one of his dogs' generations

Me, along with several other people had this convo once, and agreed Snowhite was a no content. We don't know where he acquired her, but she is nothing but a wooly mal.
All arctics go back to a single man and his breeding pair, there was absolutely no arctics he could have gotten ahold of because the breeders who do have verified dogs from the arctic line, know exactly where these dogs and pups are.

THAT is what Yona looks like. Very very close. Is that even a wolfdog though???

Well ignore my last post then :p

I'm trying to get a pic of Stormy. The only one I have though isn't too good. I'll probably just have to take one tomorrow sometime and post it on Wednesday so you see what I mean. I looked at TP's website and if Stormy was produced based off of their higher contented wolfdogs, I don't see why she looks like she's got a 'summer' coat all year long.

Like I said, get me some pictures and bios.

Why is this lady not willing to work with other rescues?
She appears to just be giving dogs away (are there even adoption fees involved?) to people who don't have the means to take care of them properly.
The 2 places we circulate wolfdogs in need of rescue don't condone this in any way, we screen potential adopters and if she isnt willing to place a few dogs in fosters/other rescues then she isnt doing things right. We can't forward people to a bad rescuer, and we can't let the wrong people get the rescuers information.

    No no no.

She asks adoption fees. $400 for pups and usually $100 - $300 for anything else. She has a few other rescues that she works with like Garland Ranch and such and more. I just don't know who all she knows. She's more than willing to send some of our dogs to other rescues/fosters and, when we have the room and better conditions, will also take in rescues from other's that are too full and such. She has NO problem doing this at all. She doesn't give the dogs away though at all.

Are they neutered/spayed? I'm curious who her vet is. And does she do the home checks?
And earlier you said "The owners don't want them going to another rescue, just another home. "

I don't know how to multiquote when they are on seperate pages. <_<

I've never been able to multi quote. I know which post you're talking bout and I was talking bout those pit pups.

A couple found a preggo pit. They brought her to us and said "We'll pay you $1000 to watch her and the pups till we can take her and rehome the pups"
The owners of the PIT don't want the pups to be placed elsewhere. The owner of the RESCUE is perfectly fine transporting, moving, fostering the other dogs that are there.

She said she goes to the vet I took Snow to last weekend which was.... Palm Plaza Pet Hospital.
No she doesn't do the home checks. I've disagreed with this method but its another thing I don't know how to bring up to her at all.
I'm unsure who is spayed/neutered if any at all quite honestly. I know since she got them though she's been trying to get them fixed (those who aren't) but all the chaos with the kennel situation has us all on haywire at the moment. We are also out on internet up there which is how she makes her money. So with no money income, there's no way to get them fixed right now. Do you know a vet that specializes with rescues or do you have any you can refer to us that is cheap but VERY good and reliable? Matt and I help with money as much as we could but that's not much since we are both in college

Some vets will work with a rescue and give them special rates since they see so many of their dogs/cats but there are no rescue only vets.
If not, find an animal samaritans in the area. There are also alot of once a month clinics that do free or very low cost spaying/neutering. Just ask an animal samaritans or google it. They should direct you to a website here in CA that gives vouchers.
Having that many unaltered dogs is really alarming, especially is shes adopting them out unaltered. If they keep having puppies, it kind of defeats the purpose of calling yourself a rescue.

Has she talked to local shelters? Some are very cheap (not all, for some wierd reason, you'd think prices would be uniform) but you have to make an appointment months in advance.

    edited for clarity.

I'll try that then. Until now, she's only adopted out pups. Why she hadn't started adopting out the older ones sooner I'm unsure of the answer. She's only EVER adopted out pups though and has always told me that she wants to rehome the other dogs. She probably wasn't ready to since she does need to get them fixed and all and may have been waiting on that. I wanna find potential homes though. If one finds a home, I can take him/her to the vet, get them fixed, and checked up and rehome them then. I don't have a whole lot of money either but I'm willing to spend some like that if need be till she can get the internet back up and going so she can get some sort of income to do it herself. Moving though messed up a lot of things for her and her husband.

Alright thanks for the help :)
If you do hear from anyone who can help rehome the dogs please let me know. I'll look into getting them fixed asap and checked up.

Is there any cost outside of basic registration and processing fees? I'm in the SF Bay Area and can finally afford to own pets. I only skimmed the thread so I might be reiterating questions already answered, but have they all been fully checked out / vaccinated completely?

They are all UTD on shots (I'm gonna double check on this one though!) but aren't fixed. They're perfectly healthy and everything. There is an adoption fee for them but it depends on who you're wanting. Different fees apply :)

Maybe you should stop accepting dogs and work on the conditions of the shelter ~___~

No of course not just "ship to whoever". That's why I say PM me so I can talk to them and see what we can work out on things to see if they're going to good homes or not. I'd prefer local people though.

We haven't been taking in any for like the last 6 months. One cause at the other place, even though the conditions were MUCH better for the dogs, we were cramped on space and couldn't take in anymore anyway. But we haven't gotten another one in in a long time cause of that. Since the move, we gave some of the dogs to other rescues that would take them and adopted some out though so we have less now, but the conditions are worse too so that's our new reason for not taking any.
You probably shouldn't assume before saying things like that though. Ask first o-o

You guys have the right intentions, but you're not doing it right.
You told me the dogs have behavior issues and more than likely (Im assuming you've never worked with an evaluator or know what to look for) they have more underlying issues that will arise in a home environment, but just because you talk to someone on the phone or PMed a few times, doesnt mean they can handle these issues. Not insinuating people are doing this but anyone can lie to you and say shit you want to hear. Home checks are the most vital thing when it comes to proper adoption. Who knows if someone has the proper containment they say they have? Or actually have a vet even? I HOPE you are checking vet references. Not too mention you may be 'adopting' out (in the adoption circuit, your prices are selling prices, not adoption) many dogs unaltered, this includes puppies. I'm not sure if she has legit spay/neuter contracts but she desperately needs them and needs a way to keep them in check.

All in all, everyone I know disapproves of this 'rescue' so far.

Then again it depends what issues you're talking bout too. Specially if these guys have no wolf in them then no they really don't have issues. The only issue I can think of is that they're extremely shy and stick to themselves and tend to stay away from people they don't know. They come near those they do know.
Funny bout the prices. Rescues I've talked to "adopt" their dogs out for a few hundred. Our dogs have all their shots needed and everything and like I mentioned earlier in this thread I can arrange things to get them fixed soon as also mentioned that if anyone wanted an unaltered dog I'd go get it fixed before adopting it out. As far as adoption prices we are only asking $100 for them. Not much of a selling price and other rescues usually seem to ask anywhere between 200 - 500$ for their dogs. And how can we fix a 2 month old pup? Vets (the ones I go to anyway) usually won't fix em till they're like 4 - 5months old AT LEAST.

I also do want to make sure that people aren't assuming I've been in this whole thing for a long time running this place like this. I barely moved in here a little over a week ago and am only trying to help her take care of things that BADLY need to be taken care of. I am in no way responsible for how the conditions are up to the week I moved in and what condition the dogs are in. I am trying to help though get them to the vets to be fixed and improve the place here as well as get some of these guys out of here so we can improve conditions here.
