Certain petpets have been able to do that for a long time now. You even get an avatar if a Drackonack eats some cheese.

I'm not aware of any other petpets that do it, but IIRC, Skeiths and Grarrls also have the ability to eat inventory items when they are hungry.

Yeah. :U It's pretty easy to keep them fed since they can eat just about anything, though

Another petpet that will eat items is Magaral. It ate one of my faerie quest items yesterday. x.x But on topic, really sorry that had to happen at that moment, but it does happen. That's why I always keep well over 25 items in my inventory at all times.
