is there a purpose for it?? like if you collect enough pieces you can do/create something?

i've been doing it as part of my dailies and now I have a bunch piled up in my sdb. any thoughts?

The Shiny Obsidians can bind with either a Miscellaneous Gear or Scrap Metal and Stone to form a new Petpet.

So once you have the items, got to Tangor's workshop to combine them

My thoughts: why did you keep collecting it every day if you didn't know what it did?

Of all the things you need to create stuff at Tangor's, though, it's the commonest. Additionally, prices of all those things have fallen enough that it's not worth collecting the stuff yourself any more.

It'd be even better if the petpets you could make actually looked half-decent.

But some of them do suck. Especially this one, which looks as if it's been beheaded:

You can still perform all the steps in the plot, and you can still get all the items needed to make any of those Moltara petpets... but it's a huge hassle collecting those worms everyday. Technically, you could write down when each worm appears (they say it'll be the same every day), but I was so annoyed the first time I can't imagine trying to do it again just to make ~3000 more NP/day.

wow i had no idea.. i kept collecting just because.. i never really gave it any thought as i usually don't with some dailies

are any of the petpets worth going through the whole process described on jellyneo?

Not anymore... I doubt it; if there were, they would have already been made and abused until the price dropped

I think what I like best about the whole petpet thing are the worms, just because they're cute. Other than that, seems useless.

I like the way they look, but I despise collecting them. The plushie worms are adorable and don't require nearly as much effort.

Love the plushie worms. I still collect the other worms daily, though I'm not sure why. I have ALL the stupid robot pets you make by collecting them, and about 30-40 pieces of moltite in my SDB, as well as lots of gears and scrap metal. One of these days I'll get around to putting a huge lot on the TP.

BTW - do the items in the TP also count in your inventory?
