Yes, it's a tower defence game. I forgot the name of that genre. It's accessible enough that anyone can play, though.

There are nine squares for them to move across (and therefore up to nine plants can be planted per row). That's a really...specific question.

Yes, it is. You can get it direct from Popcap, from Steam (which is cheaper than Popcap) or in some video game stores.

Used to have it on my PC, never thought it would come in a board games..
I played that games untill the end of level, and then get bored..
But it was pretty awesome game though... and addictive..
