I know many advanced members are using lists provided to advanced members only. I also know the auto lists in Abrosia are excellent.

For those of us who do not have access to the advanced lists and want to create our own lists, what should we consider when making a list?

Your profit margin? :/ The higher the profit margin the lesser things you buy in, you have to decide by yourself though.

Mmm. I see this could have been more clearly worded...

What do you think are the characteristics of a good RS list?
How long should the list be?
Should it consist of only very high value items?

I have found that waiting for those big items take way too long to come around. Made most my NP from smaller items. I only been ABing for 3 days, made 400k. Finally got some good settings. First 2 days werent so good. But its getting better day by day and figuring out which shop is profiting me more. Got me a shell so I can AB in the attic and got one UB from there today.

Charectors of a good list? Short, Presice. Longer lists take longer to load. It depends on the shop. I have a complete 10k+ stamp list if you want, it's ordered in price too :) Just PM me if you want it ;)

Also, when you add higher up UBs. 1) you're competing with others with lists, 2) You need to have faster buy times, and 3) TNT looks where these UBs go so higher freeze rates
^I like to stip with Abrosia's database and stick with the little profits; generally, 70k is pretty good already xD

By short do you mean five items? Twenty? Forty?

It really depends on you. When you make a long list , you buy more things. But you may also miss UBs because you bought something else first. It all depends on what profit margin you want. Greater profit margin means shorter list , which means you buy in lesser stuff, but if you buy in something, the profit is greater (by itself) But making a short lists , imo is not very good as long lists means you buy in more items and the money you earn is accumulated. This accumulated money is better than what you earn with 1 item, provided that you dont get any UBs.

Longer lists are only going to cost a few milliseconds, if the list only contains a few hundred items it won't make a noticeable difference between that and a list with say 20 items.

i made a list and it has 320+ items in it.. does it have any major impact? so far i have not seen any difference as compared to some of my shorter list of less than 100 items.. my buy times are 3000 - 5000ms...

There's probably like half a millisecond difference. :p
