Oh god, it seems like this is a trend. Blizzard used to do the same a couple years ago with the addition of characters to the World of Warcraft game. They, for example, added an NPC named "Floyd Pinkus" or this "Haris Pilton" girl which was a thin blonde Blood Elf, dancing in a bar, that sold bags, rings and necklaces (very expensive ones). And besides her, there was an invisible NPC that you could see with some special glasses called Ricole Nichie. Staff from different companies started doing this in order to enhace the online gaming i guess.
