Users Awards

Posted 25 February 2011 - 01:47 PM

Starts: Now
Entries Due: Friday, March 4th, 11:59 NST
Voting Ends: Sunday, March 6th, 11:59 NST
Prize: Baby Paint Brush
Theme: Pirates of the Caribbean

Rules:
1. Entries must be entered on time, no exceptions. You have a week, so this shouldn't be hard.
2. DO NOT include your username in the entry. We want this to be a pure competition, and including your username could skew the voting.
3. DO NOT openly post your work or PM to others for C&C. All that can be handled after the competition. If you do this, then you get DQ'ed
4. Standard signature size is expected, so we're looking in the neighborhood of 500x150 pixels.
5. PM your entry to the person running the event (me), and that person will be responsible for creating the poll for voting.
6. This must be an original work. Stealing other people's work is, of course, a serious offense. Pulling base images from public sources, however, is allowed.
7. In the event that the winner forfeits their prize, it would be awarded to the next runner-up.
8. The winner of this event has the option to run the next event, as they will be disallowed from entering the following event.

Any rules I should add/edit? Let's help flesh this out and make it a solid first showing since the resurgence of the GFX section!

Add a rule about not posting it before the competition? C&C shouldn't be responded to until the competition is closed. Leaking your image should get you kicked from the competition. Encouraging others to vote for you, etc.

Bi-week sounds like it should be an event. Like Pajama Day.

Bi-weekly is ambiguous. It can mean every two weeks, or twice a week.

I was pretty sure the differentiation was made for bi-weekly and semi-weekly.

Either way, I'm currently satisfied with the title and can't be fucked to change it anymore today.

Neither have I, but if there is a semi-annual, then I should have every right to describe something as semi-weekly.

I consider the Mystery Pic competition to be semi-weekly.

Just a suggestion, you guys should throw a Alice in Wonderland theme next time.
I think it'd be a really interesting turn out considering there are so many varieties of things to throw into a signature from that story in particular.

Check out my signature. I think I can honestly say that it is the most topical and relevant to the issue. So I am submitting it to this competition.

Aw, it's like the same concept as mine. 'Cept mine is better.
