For some reason, Neopets has blocked the country I'm it. I get the error:

"Error: Oops! The NC Mall is not currently available in your country. Please check back soon."

Is there a way to get around this? And what is up with the expiry year?

I didn't know that about the NC mall But it's just another trick up Nickalodean's sleeve to make you buy more >.> Seems like a really dumb rule, sorry I don't know how to get around it...

1 January 1970 is the starting point for unix time which is used a lot in programming when handling date and time information, they seem to have managed to screw it up somehow.

I did. My 250NC Cash actually already expired. Give me a minute and I'll find out what they gave me in return. It was like 4-5 of the same shitty looking item. xD

EDIT: Okay, I received 5x 'Really ripe banana', and 1x 'Warm Tyrannian Lamp'.

What happens if you change your country to 'United States' in your settings, then attempt to access the NC mall.

I know @ one stage they banned Australian players from using all of the gambling games due to an uproar on national Australian TV saying that it encouraged gambling in children, and players bypassed it by changing their User lookup to the US. They didn't use an IP hostmask check to determine if it was true or not.

Tried that, put my settings to NY.. Still nothing. I guess they're blocking by IP.

I used TeamViewer to remotely access a friend's pc (he's in another country where Neopets apparently IS allowed), and I did my thing.

I've had it turn into ripe bananas as well before, seems one of their favs. I've also sometimes received an email and it would never expire after all, as if they forgot.
