I was looking through my PMs and I have dozens and dozens of PMs from new members who I contacted over those few weeks where the rank existed. I feel like it helped some people learn about the boards and feel welcome.

There's nothing to stop you from welcoming people without being part of a formal team.

There also isn't anyone giving me a list of new members to PM about joining.
Not everyone makes threads in the intro section. If the new member received a PM that encouraged them to make one, more people would

When i was new It would of been nice having that person message me. I didn't want to make the Hi there Im new thread.
and this person would of helped me learn everything without going there.
