This has been all over Facebook and Tumblr. This morning I got over 5 texts telling me IT'S FRIDAY. Jesus. The amount of gif's about this on the internet is ridiculous. Last night I was thinking about making a thread about this girl, but someone beat me to it.

I genuinely thought this whole Rebecca Black thing was a joke at first.

I seriously thought it was a joke too! Thought someone just made a music vid for laughs.
But to think it's actually been approved by record companies.....

According to her wikipedia page, the production studio that creates these songs are who we really should blame. The suggestions of the youtube video lead to others' songs which are equally terrible (well, maybe a little LESS terrible) with formulaic music videos/lyrics. Apparently the company allows anyone to come up to them and they will produce a song for them for $2000. It probably costs a little more for a music video. In any case, Rebecca Black did this, and got a choice between two songs. Clearly she picked poorly, but she mentioned several times that she sang it exactly as it was written.

This is the worst thing I have ever heard, and I've heard some terrible sounds. I've driven by a slaughterhouse while they were butchering pigs...
The squealing was more pleasant than this rediculousness that I've just been subjected to. The lyrics alone made me lose about 50 IQ points.
