What should I get and where? I'm a perfectionist and i look for the best possible look, not some dumbass that place it randomly with a retarded tattoo
just so that they can flaunt it, (gucci) like it's something.

preferably chest to arms (above the elbows)
I like quotes and something meaningful.

HELP?

I think the most important thing would be to get something meaningful to you. Aaaaand, I don't know you well enough to suggest something.

I think tattoos that follow the natural curves of your body are beautiful, though. It looks less like a sloppy addition that way.

I'd draw my own, but honestly nothing's coming to mind.

AND i'm not exactly sure where it'll be good on.

If you have to think in order to figure out what tattoo you want, you shouldn't get it.

Tattoos along the curve of a hip are my favorite. Or following the curves of the lines of muscles in an arm. Or following the line of the collarbone. Those are both favorites of mine, too.

Get a fancy sandwich tattoo. Make sure you get the toothpick with an olive on it, though. That's what makes it fancy.

Exactly, or you probably aren't ready yet, wait and when something comes to your mind, not someone else's, get one

lol, im actually putting thoguht into it means, i shouldn't get it? you don't one day wake up go, oh ima get a tattoo, and ima get it here !
thefuck? obviously you would've put thought to it even before then, hence there's a meaning. srsslyy lol.

and most artistic people have struggles on what to draw/sketch(lack of inspiration), dont get that wrong.
maybe my inspiration is not there at this point in time.

and i'm asking cause obviously that shit gives me ideas.
me giving it contradictions will give me a more clear vision of where to get it and/or
if given any good ideas what to get.

And who knows there might be someone who actually as a good taste
or someone who's in the same position and willing to give their views on it.

P.S : asking for ideas and getting some actual feedback actually help SPARKS inspiration. heh.

I would get something family related. Family is important to most people. May not apply to you, but if it does it can be a meaningful tattoo.

Something that has special meaning to you.
Your favorite quote from a book, song, or movie. Something that inspired you to do what your doing or to pursue a certain career path, perhaps. You can also get something that symbolizes your heritage, whatever it may be.

    BEST. TATTOO. EVER.

I think you should sit there and think what means a lot to you. And get a tattoo of a word or words describing that. Or even more symbolic, an object that has relevance to what means a lot to you.

There's no rush to get inked.

Definitely wait until you have decided on something out of your own accord before going out and having some art done.

    Research on the artist!

    Prepare yourself, they're highly addictive.

I agree with the above poster. What's the rush? Why not just wait until you've found something to give you inspiration. We don't really know you or anything about you so it wouldn't be easy to just pick out a tattoo for you.

Why not go into a tattoo place and look at the designs on the walls? They usually carry pictures of the work they've done, maybe you can get some inspiration from that.

I agree with the others. Don't get the tattoo until inspiration hits you, and also be careful where you go to get it done. I have a tattoo on my shoulder that looked fine at first but the place used cheap inks and now it looks like smudgy crayon. It's going to cost even more to have it fixed or to have a cover done. Tattoos are very permanent, try also to put it in a place where 50 years from now you'll still be able to tell what it is.

Exactly what I was trying to say in my tattoo thread, but apparently this is a hard concept to get into peoples' heads. o___o

Since i've been in your position, i'll give you some advice.
Don't rush to find an idea, you'll probably just end up settling on something stupid just to get a tattoo. It sounds dumb, but it happens, and often. ;)
I'm not going to sit here and preach the obvious to you, but you do need to be pretty passionate about what you want. Once you find something you are happy with, wait a week or so and see if you still like it then. For me anyways, the idea of it being "permanent" didn't really sink in until after I got mine. (I really like mine though, so it's all good. :D)

Anyways, brainstorm a list of what you like, any existing tattoo ideas you have, all that. Look at pictures of other peoples' tattoos (Google, DeviantArt, Flickr) and even if you see just a part of a tattoo you like, screenie and save. Doing this, you'll either eventually find something you like, or you can compile your screenies and ideas to create your own original tattoo. ;)
    GOOD LUCK :D

And i'll throw some ideas at you (since that IS what you wanted in the first place) :D Be warned though, this is stuff that appeals to me. ;D

It's good that you are thinking about it. My advice is to not get a quote unless its really meaningful to you, because something you might think is cool or deep now may not seem that way later on. I have 2 tattoos, one the inside of my wrist and one on my hip. A nice place to get one too is on the back of your bicep

That's probably the best and most simple advice. Tattoo's are about self expression, not what everyone else thinks you should do.

I always said I would never get inked until I had something meaningful. It took me until I was 26, when I got a tattoo of a celtic cross on my upper back for my brother when he died. Small, meaningful only to me and you don't see it unless I want you to.
