In my English II Composition class, our class is learning about first hand research and ways to conduct it. Our first hand research has to in some way deal with a text. A text is defined in our class assomething that is created from writing, whether it is the internet, a book, a video, or an exam. I decided that I wanted to look more into the effectiveness of physical texts (books) and visual texts (videos) in learning.

I'm using a survey as part of my first hand research, and am looking for a variety of answers. The more people that take it, the better and more rounded the results. It is short, quick, easy, and doesn't require any personal information.
If you are unsure of an answer, you may skip it or answer to the best of your ability. If you feel like you do not want to continue, you may end the survey at any time.

Here is the link to the survey if you are interested in completing it.

Thank you in advance for your time and help.

It is, but acquiring unnecessary research is somewhat of a pain. I already know what I'm gonna write about and my arguments.
Our research essay is only 6-8 pages. Sorry to hear about yours.

Thank you very much, it's a lot of help. Good luck with your essay as well!

I went ahead and took your survey, but I'd greatly appreciate it if you made the results of the multiple choice questions public information afterwards... I'm rather interested to see how the numbers correlate... especially majors of interest and auditory vs. visual vs touch.

Took the survey, and good luck with your research paper.

There is some bias in this because the only people who have access to this survey are people from this forum, who are probably more technical by nature.
I recommend giving this survey to a simple random sample of people from your school or somewhere else.

Haha thank you very much. Your avatar and signature have the same effect on me.

I've gotten roughly 30 responses to the survey, and they are starting to show the diversity of the answers.
I'll be aiming for at least 50 or at best 100+ by the end of the weekend.

Also, if anyone has any extra commentary after taking the survey, please feel free to post it here. Don't worry you'll still be cited as Anonymous if I choose to use that information.

That can be easily arranged. I'll probably post the results by the end of this Sunday.

That may be true, but the results so far would actually surprise you. Also, I have already given the survey just as you mentioned. Now I am just looking for different groups to survey to diversify the results. Although, the bias was semi intended. I do have a claim I'll be trying to prove after all, the more support for that, the better.
