If you don't know what post secret is, it's basically a website where anyone sends in postcards telling their most personal secrets & feelings.
They also have books now and the founder, Frank, also visits colleges and other places to speak about postsecret.

I have been a postsecret fan for many many years and have some of the books myself :p

http://www.postsecret.com/

^
There is the website if you have never been on it, it's updated every sunday with new secrets.

Anyone else follow post secret?

    Never really understood the appeal.

I feel like a lot of the "secrets" are either fake or just not interesting to read. I mean, I guess it's a healthy outlet, but why can't people just be honest with themselves and each other?

Besides, I think books based off of websites are a waste of money.

We did a CodexSecret a few times in the past. I think they're still around on PB.

You might as well go to a confessional in church.

Church would never be as entertaining, and you don't get a ton of Hail Marys afterwards.

i have bought one of the books for a friend
the profits made from the books (as well as any leftover from site advertising that does not pay for the website) goes to Suicide Prevention Hotline - so i don't feel it's a waste of money

    i enjoy them
unlike texts from last night and FML i do think most of them are real
mainly because it takes actual time and effort to submit them - it is not just a few clicks on the internet

They are good coffee table books :p

Yeah, definitely, some of them might be bogus just to try to get on the site, but I think most people are legit and sincere when making them.

I used to have like four of those books! they were kinda expensive, too. I got rid of them, they were pretty depressing. There are about 3% of the secrets that were actually positive and not about abuse, drugs, death, etc.

    Usually people's secrets aren't positive.
Otherwise I'm sure they wouldn't be "secrets" and they would tell people.

    I'm the type that reads these kinds of sites everyday, but this one seems to have an odd updating system. I haven't read it for too long, but unlike ones like sixbillionsecrets/fml/etc, they don't seem to update everyday. And then I tend to forget to check it. xD;

Probably my favorite site out of it's genre though. :3

I try to read it every Sunday, but it's getting to be stupid. Most of the the secrets sound they like they are from hipster assholes or really really fake. I think those people maybe need to get a real friend to admit their secret to, instead of doing it anonymously online. It doesn't help, and it shouldn't. That's not really revealing anything, people shouldn't keep things wrapped up so much.

    IDK, I'm rambling

I like the concept of PostSecret, and the artwork is definitely really cool for most of them. My college campus did one of those a couple months ago and it seems to be working pretty well. Quite a few people have submitted material.

Really? I wasn't aware of that.

But what exactly does the Suicide Prevention Hotline spend money on? Phone bills? I was under the impression that people volunteer to work for suicide hotlines.

I used to read PostSecret every Sunday, but now I basically just go whenever I think about it. To me it's not just the secrets that are entertaining, but some of the postcards are really creative and artistic. I don't own any of the books, but I love reading the secrets whenever I remember.
