To think right now there could be an intense cosmic war going on somewhere in the universe, and we know nothing about it. :crybaby:

The only people who give a shit about the reality of going into space these days are people who were around when it first happened. Seeing a bunch of 80 year olds dancing on the street would be fucking gross.

Also lol @ video. Bad quality obviously shooped shit.

I'm inclined to disagree . The "reality of going into space" is still very well alive today.
The main problem is that governments are too busy with other bullshit/can't afford a more advanced
achievement other than our obsolete space shuttles.

And to the person with the dome of the rock vid, looks real but there's much evidence that it's fake.
Don't be deceived by our deceivers:thumbsup:

They actually launched a shuttle rather recently, it's just that those types of things don't get as much publicity anymore.

They actually retired the space shuttle, recently.
Only the Russians have spaceflight capability at the moment.

Yeah after posting that I had to do a little nasa googling.
Looks like they're still in business however they've been swept under the radar for quite some time.

I guess anything that doesn't involve terrorism and murder or molesting children doesn't deserve to be in the media...

I think sending a probe to mars and driving around on it for several years is a pretty good accomplishment?

They had a project to make a rocket to take us to mars, but I believe Obama sacked it... Should good that soon to make sure (Last I hear, that was on his cut list).

He sacked it? I got told by a friend that he was sending something to mars, but people weren't interested in the moon anymore. (I'd like to live on the moon perhaps. :C I am sad!) - When the sun begins to die in however many billion years (Four to five? IDK), we will be hitting outselves for not going to Titan or something. Methinks the oceans over there would be tropical at that point. But in all seriousness, it's been speculated that the earth is over-capacity already. We will sooner or later realise that we have to do something with our population - I mean, in our lifetimes, fossil fuels will be a thing of the past.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ares_V

Initially, the Ares V would have launched the Earth Departure Stage and Altair lunar lander had NASA returned to the Moon, which was planned for 2019, but would also have served as the principal launcher for missions beyond the Earth-Moon system, including the program's ultimate goal, a manned mission to Mars after 2030.[3] The unmanned Ares V would complement the smaller, and human-rated Ares I rocket for the launching of the 4-6 person Orion spacecraft. Both rockets, deemed safer than the current Space Shuttle, would have utilized technologies developed for the Apollo program, the Shuttle, and the Delta IV EELV programs.[4] However, the Constellation program, including Ares V was canceled in October 2010 by the passage of the 2010 NASA authorization bill.

    Yeah. Fuck you Obama.

For an organization that sent people out of the atmosphere. Went to the moon 12 times. Blew up the moon. Sent satellites out of our solar system, built a giant telescope in space, and helped design and build an actual station in space.

You have no right to say anything.

Plus, the research that NASA does in outer space, happens to positively affect research on here. A lot of the things you enjoy, come as part of their research.

Not to mention that the work they do on a daily basis, and the equations that they solve, are a million times more complex then anything you will solve in your normal, everyday life.

So please, don't insult an organization that has positively effected our nation.

NASA one of the most valuable things our government has ever done. The government is so inept now, however, that I think we would be better served if NASA were canceled, and the money reallocated to rewarding private firms who make substantial gains in space exploration... and pay American taxes.

If we had a world government like in science fiction movies and games, we could probably start exploring space in no time.
There's just too much politics and money tied up in other, trivial things that won't matter if/when aliens decide to invade.

actually, competition between nations has led to much advancement...
