Oi! So I want to do a new weekly contest alongside of the Signature of the Week; perhaps one a little less esoteric since not everyone can do graphic art (like me) and to make this forum a little more user.... active? iunno. Anyway what kind would people here be most interested in ? I was going to make this a poll, but I honestly have no ideas as of now... Prizes would be 1 mil area kinda deal.

Note: does NOT have to be neopets related, but it can be

So far I've got (will add more as more ideas/posts are given):

Customization Contest
Screen-Cap of the week
Literature of the week
Photograph of the week
Spammer of the Week
Maha of the week

Well, I know any written works wouldn't work, as I doubt anyone would take the time out to read a bunch of different stories/poems. So it'd have to be something easily seen by just a glance, something that is hard to just "google" for..

What about a photography comp? Each entry has to have the word "neocodex" in it some way? There are some that like to do amateur photography...

Still would like to suggest AMV contest (as in make your own. Not find one and post)

We could do something like avatar survivor or avatar simon like on the neoboards?

Post of the week might be kind of...lame...weird...

How about like best quote or something? Pick a theme and we create a one line sarcastic/funny blurb that fits the theme?

No, but it's got to be linked to the post itself.. some of the more epic, and someone should nominate the post other than the poster.

We could try it, but I bet there are less AMV makers than there are siggy artists..

Avatar survivor would be interesting, everyone submit a custom made avatar following a specific theme.. and people vote for the one they like LEAST until only one remains.. it could run through the week, new votes each day..

We could totally do a role playing thing. The people that participated will be the ones who voted in the end so the outsiders won't have to sit through it all and read everything

something to include EVERYONE... i don't think there is ONE specific thing that will fit that.. but with a handful of new contests then there might be a fairly good cover...

How about an admin/programmer/middleman of the week? Everyone votes for who they think did the MOST that week? (not who they like best)

well then I'd win because I'm teh most useful... and that's like the most exlcusive contest xD It can only go to like 6 people on the staff haha. Caption contest of the week would work but I think ti's too spammy... plus I hate caption contests.

As for the member of the week thing. Yeah. That can only go to a handful of people around here and we don't want noobs suddenly becoming member of the week do we?

We could do an ISpy or a race kind of thing. A mod can edit random posts here and there with a picture or a quote or something. Then people can find them and PM the person running the contest the link to the post? Race would work same way only there's a sequence of posts people have to find. First say three people to find it all wins?

How about a "Chose your own ending?" New post every two or three days.. and Someone starts of.. well like this...

" The time of the apocalypse has come, how did it happen?"
a. Zombies
b. New Ice Age
c. Jesus
d. Robots take over

"Majority chose (a.) Zombies.

You hear on the news about people returning from the dead and killing people, your response:
a. Don't believe it till I see it.
b. Load up on weapons.
c. Get the fuck to alaska
d. Ignore the situation and end up eaten."


Now obviously this would go on for a while, with each post being more creative and more detailed than the last. You have to post the one you chose, and if you didn't post with the majority you "die". Once you get to the end theoreticly there should be only one standing. That person starts the next "Chosen Story" and it could be about ANYTHING...


okay, so it's more of a game than a competition.. but maybe we can work it out?

Hmmm, see I'm not looking to increase the post counts of the board though; I just want people to submit something to show their skills and be recognized for them, and to get a little prize for it for encouragement of the week

Yeah no thanks, don't want ot spammed... I'm leaning towards Customization Contest of the week, where I (or someone) chooses species, theme etc. Although Onlyme would dominate most of us O.o

How about music? Or drama? Someone films themselves playing an instrument or singing a song or acting out something funny? Truth or dare ftw
